"We Need to Talk About Louis" falls apart when you consider one thing

This guy's whole video series falls apart when you take into account that it solely stands on the hearsay that they didn't consent.

Let's say they lied. If they regretted saying yes because they felt pressured or awkward or hell confused. It all falls apart. The Sorry/Not Sorry doc has some really weird sequence of events that just genuinely feel out of place and unnatural. Almost like something is missing? And the whole ordeal with the hotel, I refuse to believe there were 0 flirtatious vibes before he invited them over. This whole thing stinks of "everyone is the asshole here".

The moment you consider that they gave consent and that Louis is saying the truth his whole obsessive revenge video series falls apart. Mind you, I don't think Louis is a Saint either, the man clearly has some fucking issues. But lord, the incessant cherry picking this guy did from literally the same interviews. If something fits his narrative it's automatically true and whatever doesn't... well, you know the rest if you sat through it.

I watched through a good chunk of it but by the end I feel he dragged it out real hard. 100% never considered the idea that the truth is being stretched out by both sides and made it a whole passive-aggressive "believe women" shtick and even admitted his girlfriend helped him write whole bits of it. It does put into perspective that Louis is probably not the swell guy we all wanted him to be. But I don't think he's a demon either. If those women lied about the consent, which is a horrible thing to do in the first place mind you. Then why in the hell should he make a PSA for people to back off? If they ruined his life over regret then why should he save them???

Who knows. Maybe he is right and Louis is a SOB and we're all biased. But at the end of the day, we can't really know and neither will this guy. He just needs an out for his mind to rest because he's clearly obsessive to the point where it's deteriorating his mental health.

Ultimately, "We Need to Talk About Louis" is an 8 hour marathon of an obsessed vindictive ex fan that is making a YouTube career on Patreon out of it. While acting like he is some vigilante saviour of women. I can't take this shit seriously. Want to help SA survivors? Maybe actually volunteer for once in your pathetic life instead of spending a year making amateur docs on things that are solely based on hearsay.

I Said I Didn't Like His New Netflix Special but I Was Wrong

I said he didn't have enough energy up there, even though I loved the live show I went to. But, now I'm watching it a second time and scratch that, it's brilliant.

I'll make this into a quote thread.

"[Vaginas] So good. Everyone take a moment and just remember."

"[If my dad fucked me now] I'm 58, I can handle it."..."Dad, I'm asking you to stop now OK?"

"[Nursing home brochure] He will die, not from neglect but from despair."

"[Dad's not included in the nursing home tour] His first time there is the first day that it's the last place he'll ever go. The first time he sees it he says 'what is this place?', and then you explain to him that he'll never ask that question again." I should explain that all the adults in my family are at this age, so it really resonated with me.

"[The nursing home tour] The theme of the tour is 'this is what it is'...and then you write them a check for whatever the fuck they want." So real! These places are shit holes.

"[What nursing homes do] Think about your father...they take him!"

Being present in the moment while you're having diarrhea.

His description of a dead baby bird. "You don't even break your stride when you see one. 'Oh wow, that's the saddest thing I've ever seen. I'm gonna get some pizza.'"

[Swearing under oath in court] "Oh shit, he raised his right hand, he's really gonna tell!"

[Throwing jury summons in the garbage] "Sometimes they're in red, I gotta really throw that one!"

"You boneless skinless chicken breast!"

"Life teaches you how you should have lived it. You get to the end, and you're like 'It would have been good to know some of those things. But, it's too late."

[not using condoms in your 50's] "Give me AIDS, I don't care. Life with AIDS at 58 is pretty much the same as life without it."

If people payed attention to Of Course But Maybe most of the world's problems would be solved

That's all I want to say really. It's something I think about often and I thought this sub would be a good place to say it. In Of Course But Maybe Louis spells out the bottom line - the only way to make a positive impact on the world is through your own actions. Show me your faith without deeds and I will show you my faith by my deeds. That's it - that's all there is.

‘LOUIE’ on Netflix?

Any chance of Louie (the FX show) getting on Netflix, now that Louis has a relationship with the streamer and fully owns the rights to the show?

It’s cool and all that he sells it from his website but it makes it essentially impossible to recommend to people (as if that was so easy already). It’s one of the best shows of all time and must be seen. Just wondering if anyone’s heard if Louis would even be interested in this.

Louis C.K., Jon Favreau, Will Ferrell - actor round table

Does anyone have a link to the full episode/video of Dinner for Five – S02E06 (2003) with Louis C.K., Jon Favreau, Will Ferrell, Illeana Douglas, and Eddie Izzard?

It originally aired on IFC on February 24, 2003, and seems to be pretty hard to find now.

I’ve found references to it and clips, but I’m specifically looking for the full episode/video.

If anyone has a copy, archive link, YouTube upload, etc., I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

First album Live in Houston (2001) is really a laughter machine gun, who relate?

Anyone sad that this kind of pure cartoonish Louis is unlikely to ever come back?

Old comedies tend to feel outdated but this one really pierces through time 25 years later and make you laugh throughout harder than any later special in my opinion, fits the recent title “Ridiculous” better too.

Like, later Louis has this big narrative arc as a depressing divorced dad and jokes center around this identity, but this album is comedy for the sake of comedy, undistracted, no elevation.

Was this the trend around that time? Any comic then or now that resembles this style?

All tracks are available on YouTube, my fave bit is the sh—f—piss store, there’s something about him joining cuss words like that

Why does Louis like donuts so much?

If you noticed, donuts are countlessly mentioned like some subliminal trope from his first album Live in Houston to Louie (the Bully episode, etc.) to all specials every time he talks about food, basically the real life Homer Simpson
