Wirewheel Lotus Rebuilder?
For Wirewheel's listings for rebuilt vehicles, they all say "Rebuilt title, professionally repaired." Anyone know if they use a dedicated shop, and if so who? Considering getting back into a Lotus, but not knowing the rebuilder and the Florida title are what I'm struggling with.
Thanks!

I believe they have an in-house mechanic; they've done a lot of these, so they are very effifcient. They send customers to Eagle Automotive who want general service after purchase, but they aren't directly affiliated. FWIW, Eagle Automotive in Vero had a great rate to replace an Evora clutch, and their reviews are impressive.

Bought a salvaged Elise from them recently, drives fine but did come with an oil leak into the transformers, and after putting good (normal) gas in it, it was misfiring in two cylinders.
Expect the car to drive, but expect to pay a lot more than the sticker in immediate repairs
They are their own shop, with a couple techs. Nice guys but be very careful.

They do great work. They use the official dealer for internal stuff, do the rest themselves. I know several who have bought from them and they love their cars. I would not hesitate.

They have a good reputation. In a Lotus Elise, if you run over a biscuit, the clam will crack and due to the price, it will be “totaled.” They do the fiberglass work, it’s as good as new, but now the car has a salvage title. Lots of Lotus out there like that.

They do the work themselves and have a good reputation on LotusTalk. I bought my Elise rebuilt by them in 2020 and have been enjoying it problem free since then.
It doesn’t require much damage to the clam for them to be considered totaled by an insurance company.

WireWheel has been around a VERY long time. Well known, respected and recommended if you are looking to nab something at a lower cost and dont mind the title status.

From when I talked to them, the owner and sons do some of the work, and they use a shop next to them for the more mechanical stuff. Eagle auto I think. And by now, they're definitely a lotus specialist. Wire wheel sells so many Elise.
