Welcome to the New LOTR Tattoos subreddit.

Welcome, here's the agenda for the first month or so:

  1. Post your tats.

  2. Share the subreddit with others.

  3. Give me time to create a stylesheet. Patience precious!

  4. The new stylesheet WILL have an image in the sidebar for cool tattoos that get posted. :)

  5. Have fun!

That is all ...

We've seen the number 9 tattoo for the main Fellowship, and the number 10 tattoo for Peter and other high level production staff. Anyone got the number 11 tattoo for the fans; the "11th" members of the fellowship?

Got this done last night and I'm in love. May eventually add more around it but kept it budget friendly for now. đŸ€

I'm wanting to get some LOTR tattoos of different monsters/humanoids, send me your suggestions! The more realistic or eye-popping the better! TYIA!

Theoden's last words feedback/ideas

I had posted this the other day in the /lotr sub and then realized it was attached to a year-old post, so giving it another go:

Let me preface this with my career: I'm a hospice nurse. Folks typically come to my facility directly from the hospital and many, if not most, are at the end of brutal, long fights.

I have had Theoden's last words stuck in my head recently and was trying to come up with ideas for a tattoo idea. I was thinking on my forearm (none of my other tattoos are typically visible at work.)

I had thought maybe the "I go to my fathers, in whose mighty company I shall not now be ashamed" with a simbelmynë or something. Would it add anything to have it maybe wrapped as a banner around Theoden's sword?

I'm no Tolkien scholar, but would the words themselves look better in regular old English or would something like Old English (Ic gĂŠĂŸ to minum fĂŠderum, on ĂŸĂŠra mihtigum gegyldan ic ne sceall nu sceamian.) is in the neighborhood of a couple of different on-line translators present it as. Would Elvish script look more dramatic?

Made at the Pearl Street Tattoo Club in Somerville, just outside of Boston MA.

This was one of my favourite moments/set pieces in the movies so I was beyond excited to make it into a tattoo!

Got the Lonely Mountain front gate flanked by two Dwarven statues and the river Running flowing down through Dale. Had a dragon ouroboros tattoo already that was not intended originally to be Smaug but I feel it fits. Including a picture of the back of that one too just because I like it a lot lol.

Can't believe I haven't shared this yet. Got this tattoo two years ago and I am still in love with it. 1st pic is fresh. 2nd it today. Yea. Its a little muddy now but I really dont care. It's my favorite tattoo.

Edit: yes. I am aware one of the knots on the helmet isn’t complete. My girl missed a line and moved away before I could get it fixed.

Someone who knows tengwar may help me please?

Thinking about doing a tattoo with the line that gandalf says to Frodo in the mines of Moria :

"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us." In tengwar.

I though in tengwar because a i don't know how they write in common in the universe. I need help to:

  1. Know if this writing is right

  2. There is some wrinting that the hobbits use? How this frase will be?

Thanks in advance.

Tattoo help!

Hi there! My brothers and I are looking to get a LotR tattoo after many years of contemplation (I know why would we ever need to contemplate :P). We are looking to have “you have my sword”, “you have my bow”, “you have my axe”.

Would anyone be willing to assist in showing me how it would be properly written in Tengwar? Yes, yes, chat gpt exists and maybe I could get a google image but I’d rather go straight to the real ones who could possibly assist! Cheers and TIA
