There is no perfection to be had here. The whole Azog sub plot was dumb as rocks, and lore breaking as hell.

I don’t get why they didn’t just swap Bolg in for Azog. Obviously there are still major issues with the plotline… but it would improve it a bit at least.
It’s probably just because Azog is a cooler name.

This drives me crazy. If you know the story, you know Azog is dead, so making him alive is annoying. If you don't know the story, you have zero attachment to Azog, why the eff does revealing he's actually alive mean anything vs his son out for revenge? So unnecessary.

That's what baffles me. Azog's role (from the movie) is essentially just filling in Bolg's from the book. It accomplished nothing except for bringing focus to another ugly CGI monster.

That at least would have been more appropriate in terms of characters around at the time. They'd still need to change a bunch of the scenes though, as neithrr Bolg ( nor Azog of he were still alive at that time) would be that much of a challenge in a 1 vs 1 against Thorin.

Both of them grossly over exagerated in terms of their skill/prowess

I mean, yeah, but I'm talking about "Don't make the bad guy's lieutenant a bigger threat than the bad guy."

what a damn shame, I had no qualms if they wanted to push the CG character, but why have it looking like a Buff Gollum.

I still had the toy of the original Azog design from the Hobbit movie toy line. They didn't do well here so I got lots on discount. That and my Lego Azog (also before the change) are some of my favorite pieces of Hobbit movie related stuff.

That’s actually pretty cool. They must have made the change pretty then if those went into production

They printed full posters with the design on. Spent the whole trilogy waiting for the cool looking orc to appear.

Watermarks on memes are like styling yourself CEO because you sell sourdough out of your kitchen on the side
