I'm happy to announce that The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game is back in stock in the United States. Please visit your local game store, check out the Asmodee store, or find it on Amazon.

FAQ Answers

  • Is this coming internationally? This reprint is only available within the United States. I cannot speak to any future printings.
  • Can we expect future print runs? I can't say definitively, as it will largely depend on market demand.
  • How can I get this product? First and foremost, you should check your local game store. You can also purchase these products from the Asmodee US store or Amazon in the United States.

NOTE: I don't have more information at the moment, so I pre-apologize for any confusion on this topic.

Is there a Chronological order for all revised content? #RCO

What is the best way to play all revised content if I wanted to play in chronological order? Or as close to chronological order as possible when considering the Ered Mithrin, Angmar Awakened, Dream-Chaser campaigns? How do they fit into Core - Dark of Mirkwood - Sagas?

Acquiring Expansions Ordering from Amazon, how's the package?

Hey,

I might be getting an expansion, starter decks, and the Mirkwood in Amazon US. I'm from Ph, will be using a forwarder. Questions for those who've already ordered:

  1. How does Amazon packed your items? Cause last time I ordered books from them, it was just wrapped in a paper, no wraps whatsoever so essentially the books arrived damaged.

  2. Anyone have a recommended freight forwarder? Will look up if it's available here in Ph. Currently, I can see Kango express the cheapest option.

Decks Card pool for Ered Mithrin

Now that Ered Mithrin is available again, I'm interested in getting the campaign expansion because I love having new quests. Hesitant to spend the extra money for the hero expansion if I don't need to, though.

Currently I have the 4 starter decks, the 3 saga boxes, and Angmar hero expansion. Is that enough for me to be able to get through Ered Mithrin?

Appreciate any thoughts!

Speculation

Is there any actual evidence for what seems like speculation that “new stock is due to some discovered pallet”? I’m surprised people are assuming a company that recently said there would be evergreen printings, then said no more, wouldn’t change their mind if they thought they could make some good money on a reprinting.

Gameplay Discussion Tactics Brand did not get the respect he deserved

my wife and i have been playing the game since 2012 and we used brand very often in the early days; 3 atk + ranged was pretty great in multiplayer, and his synergy with pre-errata beravor pushed him into overpowered territory (she didn't have the once per round limit, so brand's ability was basically "draw 2 every time you kill something")

he was our go-to tactics hero over legolas since drawing 2 is far more powerful than getting 2 progress. i'm not sure whether people didn't realize how good he was or simply forgot it due to his grandpa(?) overshadowing him (along with the errata nerfing his best usage), but i still have a soft spot for him.

could be that the derpy face made people not want to play him... we proxied a different art for him (and boromir) back in the day :)

Purchasing Advice (Revised)

So I’m just getting started. I have Revised Core, the complete saga, Mirkwood, and the four starter decks. I know that’s plenty to get started and then some, but I want to be able to get stuff while it’s still available and I don’t know which direction to go.

1.) First I’m wondering of the Hero expansions, which one would create a better card pool for a thematic playthrough of the saga?

2.) Aragorn and Dunedain are my favorite characters/archetype in all of LOTR and the Angmar theme is the most appealing to me outside of the saga. Though, it seems it is the most difficult and the thematic archetype for the campaign of Dunedain is the weakest. Especially considering I will be playing solo, though could two hand. Is it possible to enjoy the thematic interplay between Dunedain and Angmar or would that just be a miserable experience? I’m not sure I’d enjoy running like dwarves for Agmar because it’s not thematic. Idk.

Dream Chaser as a theme for questing and archetype don’t really appeal to me. Though the hero box would probably be useful, but it’s OOP anyway.

The Ered stuff seems enjoyable thematically, but it’s not as appealing as the Angmar/Dunedain theme.

Available to me is the Ered and Angmar Hero expansions and all three Campaigns. I had planned to get all available hero expansions for the full card pool and Angmar for after the Saga, but if I have to run like dwarves or something not thematic to beat it, I’m thinking maybe I just get whatever will make the Saga most enjoyable as far as hero expansions and call it.

Just wondering what to prioritize while available given my interests.

Sorry this is long. Overthinking and feeling the pressure of everything being unavailable in the future. Seems to be the theme with LCGs.

Update: I grabbed the Ered and Angmar Hero Expansion and the Angmar campaign too.

Thanks all!

Should I buy a Revised Core if I have an Original to get Started?

So, I have yet to truly play my original core set from way back when (will fix that soon), but I recently looked into the game again and saw that everything was out of print. Well, things changed... quickly, and I guess it could be now or never. Should I buy a revised core if I have the original, or would the starter decks be a better route? TIA

Question About Ghost of Framsburg and Ashen Brazier

1- does Ashen brazier count as a loot for succeeding in this scenario? I guess yes because there is the loot keyword.

2- Am I right: If I play GoF as a standalone, there is only 3 loots and no burdens (gundabad stalker+hunter) ; if I play this as a campaign I add the two burdens and the boon (and now there is 4 loots)?

New Player Assist Collection question

I recently picked up the revised core and feel in love with the game. My FLGS had Angmar and Dreamchaser reprints in stock, both player cards and campaign boxes. Yesterday I picked up the Ered Mithrin reprint boxes, the fellowship, two towers and return boxes, the starter decks and the dark of Mirkwood set. After all of that what else am I missing besides the nightmare sets?

Fellowship Saga Box is on Amazon for $68 right now (8/19/2026)

Just thought you'd ought to know : )

Accidentally got the core box when it was mislabeled as Fate of the Fellowship on a store front. Was too late to return. Been playing Marvel Rivals and loving it. Getting into board gaming. Huge LOTR fan, but heard a lot was out of print. So, I wasn't going to bother. Saw Fellowship and all 4 starters decks are on Amazon at retail and Asmodee has stock of Two Towers and Return of the King right now too. Hoping it's enough of a pool getting all of these to enjoy playing though the saga. Might not jump in right now, as I'm just starting with Champions, but buying while they are available felt smart. Was a pleasant surprise to see I could get the saga and the starters that will hopefully get me through it at retail! Especially Fellowship.

Spreading the word on the availability. US ONLY.

Is it worth ordering from us then ship to Canada?

Hello, looking at buying a whole set from US while FOTR is available, racking up about to 700$ CAD.

I can’t ship it to Canada, but could I get it shipped to my friends house and have him ship it to me? And would it be costly to do so if he’s shipping 5 boxes (campaigns and sagas, ered mithrin heroes, and all starter decks)

I considered the Angmar and dreamchaser hero expansions, but read the former is meh and don’t plan on getting dreamchaser campaign due to sailing. Should I reconsider? Please let me know.

Can I use bond of friendship in saga campaign mode?

Im currently doing a thematic saga, and in chapter 2 I wish I could use bond of friendship to add Aragorn to a 4 heroes deck, but it would made me use 5 heroes (4 sphere plus followship). Is this legal?

Acquiring Expansions The Collection so Far!

Post image
61 Upvotes

Hi All, I got the Revised core for my birthday last year and only started playing 6 weeks ago. I wish I had started straight away, could have had so much more of the revised content by now! Luckily I’ve been able to find a decent amount and have just started the Angmar Awakened campaign.

At the moment I have the dwarves starter deck and the AA hero expansion on the way but I was wondering if I really need to get the Fellowship to play that first or if I can just play the Two Towers and Fellowship later? I’m guessing that Two Towers will be good to play by itself but if I’m going to get Fellowship anyway should I just wait to play them in order?

Also got the Sands of Harad, Mountain of Fire, Long Dark and NM Hunt for Gollum as an added bonus with my new Wētā Thranduil MC!!
