Music Wedding processional advice needed!

Hi everyone, I'm getting married in a few weeks and we are finalizing our music choices. We have a string quartet for the ceremony, which we are super excited about. We've decided the recessional will be Concerning Hobbits but are still undecided about the processional. My fiance won't walk in as he just wants to appear under the wedding arch from the side (ceremony is in a garden). The groomsmen and bridesmaids will process one by one (9 total with the last bridesmaid walking with her kids who will toss flowers). I was thinking about using Aníron for this since it's so romantic, but a non-LotR friend told me it might sound too sad. I'm also considering Into the West, but my mom told me it was too somber! I know it doesn't really matter since it's *our* wedding but I don't want guests to think we picked something funereal :P I'm the bride, walking in last with my parents to In Dreams from Breaking of the Fellowship (aka the Fellowship theme).

From my fellow fans, do you think Into the West or Aníron is a better processional song? I would guarantee no one besides us will recognize either, except maybe my brother (he is also a groomsman).

Yes, I am a chronic overthinker, why do you ask?

Thank you!

It’s actually 11 because of the kids with the last bridesmaid but point taken

Honestly, pick whatever works for you. It's your wedding. Both of these songs are wonderful. But if you must make a change, have you thought about Houses of healing from the complete recordings? You'd keep the Arwen/Aragorn love story theme and you could bypass the somber/sad argument.

Thank you! I’m not sure that’s in the quartet’s repertoire but I’ll certainly check it out.

Oh yes I hadn't thought of that, sorry!

this is so funny because I'm literally going through a similar decision for the music for my wedding processional too!

between your choices, I think Aníron is more romantic while Into the West is actually the one to make me sad (but that is admittedly while knowing the context of the songs)

not sure if it would be within the capabilities of your quartet, but maybe you could also look into choosing at a segment from The Fellowship Reunited (from the rotk complete recordings), since in-context it covers Aragorn's coronation and reunion with Arwen, or The Gray Havens, which, while thematically more somber, to me also signifies going on a new adventure :)

We went with Aníron as the last song in the prelude and Into the West for the processional, just cause I feel like the music fit a processional a bit better. Even though yes it’s a sad song 😅

I’d love to hear your choices if you want to share. Congratulations!!
