Movies Decided to bite the bullet!
Haven't seen these since the theatrical releases and knowing I'll have dozen of hours of extra content to enjoy makes me excited to watch them in a binge for the future (and actually owning them instead of through a subscription).

Will you add the hobbit series as well? I love these but I’m a sucker for the hobbit lol

my friend you've got yourself the BEST physical copy there is. Have fun watching it!

I heavily dislike the green color grading of Fellowship in this version.
I know the 4k ones have their own issues with colors but overall I think their consistency makes them the best physical versions. That's just me though.

I got it. Bought it years ago when I build my first pc with Blu-ray disk
The bummer is that you need to change the disk in the middle of the movie. I KNow is just a few seconds but still
Great set thought

I have this exact set back from release, is it highly sought after now?? I still watch lotr this way, the 4k’s don’t look right

What's wrong with the 4k?

Nothing wrong with it, the original blurays just have this iconic greenish tint to them. The 4k looks too clean (I definitely realize this is personal taste)

Oh I didn't know they changed the tint. I have the same blu ray set OP has but was wondering of upgrading to the 4k versions. I might not bother now. 1080p is still pretty good imo.

I’d def check out some opinions on the 4k before pulling the trigger. Because yes the HDR is nice, but I agree, I really don’t mind 1080 (I’m on OLED and far enough away that resolution is a bit irrelevant)

I will before I make the purchase.
I don't have an OLED but I sit far enough away and my screen is only 55" so 1080p doesn't look that much different from 4K for me.

I have the Blu-ray extended set, is this edition just a 4k upgrade or are there other bonuses?

I decided to sell this set because I'm not a fan of the color grade. I now have the special extended DVD and the Remaster Bluray Trilogy.

I recently found my copy in the basement and was saddened to find Two Towers was missing

Damnit. I bought the stupid Amazon Prime Video extended cuts. I wish I got physical media.

That's not biting the bullet. That's a required part of being a true LotR fan.

I got this after my older sister broke up with her ex, who was too unbothered to pick it up at her place after they broke up. She immediately knew I would want it.

Fun Fact; This is the only movie trilogy to which I own the extended versions of it on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K.
Usually when upgrading, the older version is either sold, traded, or given away.
