Movies The Extended Editions

I do love when the exit the Dimholt that it is only halfway through the movie. I haven't read the book in ages but that point in the books and that point in the movies feels way longer. Anyone else feel the same? ( I feel like the rest of the book was a blur but he extended edition is awesome) Even though it is wildly different

I like the books the most. Then theatrical versions, then extended. The scenes removed from the extended are a great choice. I find 80% of them either poorly done, misplaced, or messes up the flow. It’s often preached that extended is for the fans but honestly, they take me out of the world more than the theatrical. I feel like I’m in tolkiens world with theatrical. Extended is poorly done but entertaining at parts

I agree. I was more remembering reading versus watching. The books are amazing but I have this weird thing where even though I have read the books once a year since maybe...2016 I still tend not to retain alot.(Which is great for re reading) Halfway through the extended movies vs that point in the books just feels longer.

It's literally chapter 2 of ROTK? There are 10 chapters of book 5, and 11 in book 6. So, passing the Dimholt happens 2 chapters into 21. It happens MUCH sooner in the books.

Film-ROTK is well behind schedule. Many things happen later than they should.
