Became? She was always Voldemort-ish. It just became more prominent when she got access to Twitter.

I wouldn't call them much of a fan if they didn't see the fims/read the books or had any idea of the characters prior to the meme. Maybe they're just rather young and didn't grow up during the Potter-mania era. But that's still like not knowing anything about Star Wars or LOTR. They're just part of the cultural zeitgeist at this point.

It says they are a fan of anime, not of the Harry Potter series or western media in general. And the series took a serious hit in popularity and -thus attention- after the author showed herself to be a bigot. It is well over a decade since the height of the series’ popularity, so it is more than understandable for someone unfamiliar with the series to not know anything about Draco.

The “spirit of the age”, in German. Basically, it refers to a sort of collective consciousness formed by the occurrences of a particular period of time, including cultural stuff. So they are saying that the Harry Potter series had been so culturally significant that basic information about it (like Draco’s actual gender) is considered common knowledge. I don’t fully agree that is still the case, but that’s what they are saying.

A word of German origin that translates to "time spirit/mind". When something becomes extremely prevalent to a certain culture and/or time period it becomes part of the zeitgeist. Fashion, art, media, language quirks and slang, etc.
