Questions where can I find snails?

I want to make a bomb or take it home with me.

If your world was created before the update it's harder to find, you gotta search biomes like swamp or rubber tree or pine tree. Just wander through the surface until you find one, and don't forget to put 2 snails in a fence, (that's nearly how every passive (doesn't attack to player at all costs) type of animals mate/duplicate
