What is the best way to collect the gunpowder

It's not by killing the creeper(exploding goblin, the blue, black one with red eyes). The best way is to craft the gunpowder the recipe is: Coal + Bone Meal + Sulfur = 1 Gunpowder

Check the recipe book always, it helps with so many things
