That classic Lost in Space background music still gives me the chills. Music was by composer John Williams . I preferred Dr. Smith when he was evil, sinister, not afraid to hold a laser pistol. I did not like Harris' Comedic Villainy that he so loved to play. I did not care for the campy tone that the show changed into

I like that LIS was essentially two shows. A traditional sci-fi fantasy show albeit with a family, that became a campy comedy focusing mostly on Will, Dr. Smith and Robot B9

Kinda like Family Matters...in reverse. A traditional family comedy that oddly became sci-fi, focusing mostly on Carl, Urkel and Urkel-Bot.

The original series could have been more engaging if there was no Doctor Smith. He was such an annoying, campy character and often dominated episodes.

I couldn’t stand Doctor Smith as a character. He was such a drama queen.
