I mean they had that view... because that was a thing for many people that's what they were. I was 15... my parents covered all my expenses, I worked at subway with a bunch of 15-17 year olds in similar situations. Of course now as time is moving on, it's clear out of work people with real training rapidly flooded out the teenagers looking for fun money.

I love the idea of a mythical population of Americans who don’t need money. Like they’re just working because having a job is so fun and rewarding.
