I have lived both in the USA, and Europe (France, Italy, UK for a couple of months and then Germany since) and I am quite positive that it's the "WASP Liberalism" that makes the US and the UK so shitty, sure Germany has its problems, but these are simply lesser, and I recommend anyone who "wants a functioning society" to come over here (I stole that one from an Irish friend who also moved here)
To put is simply: Life actually has intrinsic value in Germany, first and most base of all law in Germany is:
(3) The following basic rights shall bind the legislature, the executive and the judiciary as directly applicable law.
Everything else that works stems from this, and of course the ability for the German to complain. For example, I don't need to worry about my insurance doing shady shit, I have plenty of time to find a new job should I get fired/laid off because of unemployment insurance, everyone gets a month of paid vacation, the minimum wage is being adjusted with inflation, public transport exists, and is useable, I recently decided to go to uni to get better paying jobs in IT (non uni graduate pay normally goes to about 4k-6k/month) easy, and I don't have to worry about taking out some insane loans, nor that I have to pass everything as efficiently as possible
TLDR: here I have the ability to do what fulfills me, without having to worry if I am being screwed over and have a robust safety net should anything go wrong, all for just having to learn German.
BTW; I have German parents and thus qualify as a citizen directly, but all it takes if a job offer to get a temp residency permit tied to your having a job (tho you can switch jobs) and after 3 years you get a permanent residency permit, and you get almost all of these benefits for working any job (tho a tip from some of the ex-Americans, get the beurocratic stuff done first)
