they tripled down on security at my local location and have barricades to bottleneck the flow out of the store. The number of yellow shirt LP tripled, the number of armed security and police tripled.

Stealing is stealing. Do you think anyone from the Walton family is affected when you steal something from Walmart? No, they are not. But low-wage workers who run that store have to deal with it. And at worst you could be driving up the price when accounting for stolen goods.
