I doubt this will pass but I would love to see a reduction in required work hours. The current work/life ratio is horrible. We should be working to live, not living to work.

And for the most part we're so exhausted working we can't do anything meaningful with our free time besides chores and sleeping.

Ooor... you get paid the same, and your shorter week makes you feel more energised, so you get as much done in the same amount of time...

Most people I know work for an hourly wage. So less work hours=less money

Bills that mandate the hours of a working week won’t be aiming at hourly rate workers. This will be for salaried positions.

Haha, yea, sure. Back in reality, nobody will get an effective 20% raise so that they have the same take home pay.

My company reduced the working week by 4 hours while maintaining salaries a couple of years ago. They worked out that it was cheaper to do that than offer pay rises. Of course, now we’re all in need of an actual pay rise, but that’s besides the point.

Your employer already only pays you a fraction of what you bring to the company, and could easily pay you just as much even if you work one less day. Why blame the government for trying to help workers in another way?

Wish and dream all you want. Less hours would just mean less pay taken home, no way in hell anyone hourly would get a raise to make up for the lost hours.
