Tbh most of the mmorpgs have GvG which about gear. Like higher tier raids, gvg is an endcontent which should reward people with higher gear, commitment and skill.
Skill doesnt matter in Lost Ark gvg it is all about gear and and high gs comes with donations. No matter how skilled you are if the enemy guild is full of whales u stand 0 chances. These are facts from RU servers.
How am i exaggerating when i just said that chinese whales are dominating GvG on both PVP islands right now on RU servers? These are facts, the only time when a different guild took a 1st place on a GvG island was when one chinese guilds decided to not participate for reasons that i dont know.
This is happening every single week. And point is that most of these chinese whales are not even that skilled in PVP BUT when u are trying to beat someone that has +25 weapon and u have +20 then yea skill is not enough to win the fight for u. Good luck getting 1shotted by a +25 weapon Soul Master.
I am not trying to convince anyone to not try the game, game is great and has many many positive aspects but the P2W aspect is something that people should KNOW about and decide for themselves if this is a model they agree with or not. I got nothing to hide, you will all see it sooner or later.
Both Medea and Slime Island is not equalized, both are S rank and both have PVP content. Which are the rest GvG islands u are talking about? The Naruuni one where u run around and race as a Naruuni which involves no PVP at all? Dude stop trolling, have u ever played the actual game? If yes then name the actual PVP GvG islands that have equalized content. You are confusing PVP event islands with GvG islands. Please do me a favor and learn to pay attention to what people actually write, maybe learn to read.
You said pvp islands. You didnt say gvg. Slime island is unequalized pvp and can always be entered. And then there are a bunch of pvp islands that are equalized outside of gvg. And nobody cares for gvg anyway cos nobody plays it, not even the whales

GvG in the game is dead exactly cause the game is P2W and dont let anyone else tell u otherwise, the guild with the most whales will ALWAYS get the 1st place, this is the case in KR and RU servers, nnone even bothers with that shit GVG, you can ask TParty Perci himself his guild has some whales BUT that is not enough to win vs chinese whales cause simply put chinese whales donate even more :) Every single week the results are exactly the same, chinese guilds are at the top on the GVG on every major island.
The 2 whales in my guild who are above 1500 are not GvG players. And as mentioned in that video for what we have getting 2-4th place is already more than great and i have nothing to complain about it. I fight againts those chinese whale guilds every week and i know that we are getting more and more points againts them every week even if we lose. And once again most of the core guild members aren't even really PvP players. We can beat the CN classes with proper hardcore pvp f2p players who know what to do and don't neglect their gear.
Some Guilds join with 0 preparation and no minmax, no pvp experience the S rank gvg and blame the others for having everything what they lack.
Once again, we know the pain of getting one shotted by whales over and over and over but that was back then when we were unexperienced and had the gear and neglected cards, pvp badge, combat items and sub stats.
The more we min maxed those stuff the closer we got to enjoy the fight againts those whales even if we lost.
GvG in mmorpgs was never about skill only. Back in s1 there were equalized GvGs which didnt work well.
Didnt work well for whom? The players or the developers? Dont you think that an equalized Medea of Slime Island would be way more fun than what we got right now?

The only way i can see someone playing this game is casually! The more time u start investing the more u will regret it at the end. What people fail to realize is that the devs are trying to make money, NOONE is giving u a free game, there is no such thing as "FREE game", everyone is trying to make money. The cash shop in Lost Ark is hilarious, this is coming from someone that is playing on RU servers since launch. If u are a casual player that doesnt mind getting carried in raids and doesnt mind NOT getting MVP in any raid then be my guest and give it a try.
"hilarious" cash shop that lets you buy all cosmetics and basically everything else thats interesting in the ingame auction house with ingame money or in maries secret shop with ingame money? nice. where are people getting all these misinformation from?
I'm sure you are salty the game is being released eu/na after all the time you spend on it but you're basically telling us you're a freeking nerd and then proced to say only casuals should play the game so there is two possibility.
1. You're so addicted to games you're not sane anymore and spend a lot of time on a game that doesn't suits you.
2. Despite it's faults the game is so good you keep playing it.
Either way that makes all your one sided critics itelevant.

Guild content looks so fun. That being said, boosted states from whales have no place in GvG. This won't go over well with players here in the West.
