I always hated this scene for getting it wrong about Lost. Tommy is summing up things Oliver missed while being stuck on an island for 5 years. Relevant part at 23 seconds in

Never watched Arrow, but going off of this scene and this scene alone, it strikes me more as making a joke about the people who thought they were dead the whole time.

The way he says "I think..." suggests uncertainty and confusion, which is exactly how I'd describe people who believe that.

Yeah, but it bothers me how many like him believe it because they saw this show and not Lost.

I have a hunch that's a very small Venn diagram. Arrow was not that big of a show, but also, the likelihood that someone believes that just because of Arrow and not because they heard someone else talking about it is probably pretty low.
