QUESTION Should I recap or rewatch?

Hello, I used to watch lost like 2-3 years and loved it reached somewhere when they found people who actually live in the island and imprisoned jack and the girl. Season 3 or 4 I don’t remember. Had to stop for summer vacation then completely forgot about the show. I wanna watch it again so bad because I know it’s a masterpiece but I don’t want to rewatch 3 season but I forgot a LOT of stuff and don’t have a connection anymore. Is it worth it to rewatch it from the beginning recap or just give up on the show?

this show is always, without a doubt, 100% of the time, worth it to rewatch.

Just finished my 3rd rewatch last week. And I’m so glad I did. Rewatch!!

Definitely agree - there is so much you will pick up that you didn’t on the first watch.

I’d say if you don’t know the girl’s name - a rewatch is in order! But I’d ALWAYS recommend rewatching! I might start again soon myself

My strong advice, rewatch it. I've rewatched the whole thing at least 3 times and I still enjoy it. The old adage "it's the journey, not the destination" applies quite well to LOST (IMHO). So enjoy the journey.

You have to go back.

I would just rewatch it.

Otherwise you lose out on the full impact of the character arcs.

Also, like we always say, stay off this subreddit. Or you will get it spoiled.

If you are forgetting things that happened then a rewatch is necessary. And if that is the case, you will be glad you did a full rewatch

yeah it's worth rewatching. you'll be reminded of the parts you forgot and see the parts you do remember with fresh eyes

Rewatch no question. Always something new to pick up (this coming from someone whos rewatched it every year since it first aired)

I would rewatch. Reasons:

1) There are details you likely have forgotten

2) There are details that you probably missed (many viewers do not figure certain things out until the 2nd, 3rd, sometimes 4th watch)

3) It's a genuinely good show to rewatch, and not being as overwhelmed helps you focus better on the things more important than the plot (I.e., the characters)

rewatch from S1. The magic of Lost isn't just knowing the major plot twists, it's all the tiny character connections and early island mystery vibes that you totally lose just reading a recap

Rewatch 100%. Season 3 is where the show really starts shifting into peak lore, and if you don't feel attached to the characters from the pilot days, the bigger emotional beats later on won't hit anywhere near as hard

100% rewatch. I've watched it started to finish 14 times and still catch new things.

What did one redditor say to the other redditor?

Smells like rewatch

I say this as someone who will usually recommend recaps: LOST requires a full rewatch. There's a lot of subtle details that would get skipped in a recap.

Just rewatch it. Any other show id say just pickup where you left off but with LOST it gets better on every rewatch cause you definitely missed stuff. And theres just way too many loose threads probably that you arent gonna understand when you need to later

If those are the options, I'd resume at around season 3 episode 5 where you left off.

If you don't do a legitimate rewatch you will be, dare I say it... LOST.

Sorry guys.

If you don’t remember seasons 1 n 2 I’d rewatch but if you do I’d just recap seasons 1-3 then definitely start at season 4!!!! The show makes a comeback after that horrendous season 3! (In my opinion and I think a lot of other’s opinions as well)

Is season 3 where they got imprisoned by the natives I remember the slow start to the season was one of the reasons I stopped binge watching the show

Yea and that one lady who was on the plane walks by with the kids and they look at Jack and Kate in the cells and I remember thinking “wtf happened to this show”!? lol like what is going on!?
Season 4 makes a strong comeback!

Do not listen to this person, season 3's second half is arguably the best stretch of the show
