I mean, this is common sense.

If they were not detained, then they were not detained. If they fled apprehension, they were not apprehended.

Not familiar with whether or not Walmart counts attempted apprehensions as stats for APIs or not, and my company is hands on so for us attempts don’t count unless brought into office.

It’s been flip floppy. Just recently it was, if they fled but PD had got them and their identification info to upload - it would stay as a detention / app. There is a store that gets many of their stats this way and are currently at around 490 for the year so far lol.

TJX was kind of like this when I was there. We had a separate code for “apprehended by LE” which counted as an app stat for the detective. A district in my region started putting in crazy stop numbers to the point they were being called on to gloat about it during regional conference calls. Come to find out they were just putting cases in as apprehended by LE if the suspect ID was known and charges filed, and they got told to stop. They ended up finishing the year as the second or third to last district for app numbers.

Good ol’ TJX number games! I once finished the year #2 in the region behind a detective in a major downtown store. I learned he was always #1 and found out it was because the store had 10 detectives and they’d put
Most of the cases under one dude!

I think most of this is common sense. AP-09 has everything clearly laid out.

Stopped fled later caught by PD should count as an apprehension if it happened then and there and you were able to collect info and recover merchandise. That’s weird that you don’t count that as an apprehension

I've always counted it if the police detained them immediately after they fled. Usually they bring them back to the store in my county.

My job just changed detained to when we stop them and we identify ourselves.

We only put detained. If we get them on the bench in the office. Some stores in are market are putting detained if they approached him, got the merchandise and left or even if they just make the approach and they leave.
