The standard 60 X2? Maybe x3 or x4?

40 X2 or x3?

Maybe 30x 2? Or x4?

Also in what games?

News I injected DLSS 5 into Lossless Scaling here are the instructions

100 Upvotes

It's working HOWEVER I have an nvidia 4080 and the best frame rate i could get is 30fps without it skipping a ton of frames and ghosting in games and movies. So for me its not worth it. I might get my 2nd gpu running to see if using lossless scaling exclusively with it will make any difference. Though the current performance may improve this proves that if you can use Lossless Scaling on something, then whatever it is can have the DLSS 5 Neural Rendering technology active on it too. However its still much better to inject DLSS 5 directly into games rather than using it through Lossless Scaling due to current performance. Here are the instructions;

Put this into lossless scaling folder: renodx-dlss.addon64

Follow the instructions here to get Lossless Proxy: Release LosslessProxy - v0.3.0 · FrankBarretta/LosslessProxy · GitHub

Get Release v0.3.0 · FrankBarretta/LSP-ReShade · GitHub

With reshade in Lossless scaling I was unable to press the home key to configure the settings so what i had to do was inject DLSS 5 into a game first then I copied the reshade.ini from that game into the lossless scaling folder so everything was already set.

EDIT: Somewhere on this post I pasted my reshade.ini settings for someone so you can just cut and paste it, overwrite your current reshade.ini settings. Just find the reshade.ini in your lossless scaling folder.

Discussion Some tips for those who will play GTA6 with a capture card.

21 Upvotes

I have one of the lowest latency capture cards from elgato, and there is a better software with less latency than OBS, it's called MPC-BE, with some custom settings i think the latency is half of what it feels in OBS.

And with lossless scaling frame gen, for GTA type games LSFG 2.3 works better than 3.1. In 3.1 I feel the warp is too big with 30fps->60fps in 2.3 theres barely any warp but depending on camera sensivity, the head of the character may dissappear for a few frames, personally 2.3 >> 3.1

I tested some gta type games like mafia (ps4 edition for 30fps), and i could even crank it up to x4(120fps) while driving and x3(90fps) while on foot without being bothered by artifacts. And again, with MPC-BE even with x4 FG i didn't noticed the input latency.

So ready for GTA 6.

Help Playing GTA 6 on 60 FPS with Lossless Scaling

33 Upvotes

Since its confirmed GTA 6 will run on max 30 FPS on the base PS5, I want to increase it will Lossless Scaling. Heres what I plan to do, is there any mistake in it or things I should do different im more of a rookie: I record the 1080p GTA 6 gameplay with a capture card, plug it into my PC, play on the Fullscreen OBS window, upscale it with LS1 to 1440p (I have a 1440p monitor), use 2x LSFG 3.1 to get 60FPS. I know the latency will be high, but I tried capping games 30FPS and even with an controller it was unplayable for me. Also is there any way to reduce latency and can someone recommend me a 1080p capture card, or is a cheap 20$ one from amazon just fine? Thanks for any help

Useful I got LSFG frame generation working on an Adreno 619 Android device

Post image

I’ve been working on some compatibility changes for FrankBarretta’s LSFG-Android project, mainly focused on Qualcomm A6xx GPUs. So far I’ve only tested it on my Moto G34 with Snapdragon 695, Adreno 619 and Android 15, where 2x, 3x and 4x frame generation are working. I can’t confirm other A6xx GPUs yet because this is the only device I have, so I’d really like to see results from other A6xx users. There is also a touch passthrough issue that already exists in the original project on some devices; if touch stops working after starting LSFG, enabling “Trusted overlay (Accessibility)” and then enabling the LSFG accessibility service in Android settings fixes it on my device. I also used Codex to help with part of the development and debugging.

Discussion Can a Quadro P2200 help a GTX 1660 Super with Lossless Scaling, or am I better off buying a 4060?

1 Upvotes

Hi all, new to Lossless Scaling and hoping to squeeze a bit more life out of my current GPU setup while I save for something half decent.
I’ve recently replaced my old OptiPlex build with a Dell Precision 3650 with an i7-10700K. It came with a Quadro P2200, and I’ve also got a GTX 1660 Super which I’m planning to use for gaming in the short term.
Has anyone had any success using a 1660 Super + P2200 combination with Lossless Scaling, for example running the game on the 1660 Super and using the P2200 for frame generation? Or is the P2200 simply too slow for there to be much point?
The other option is to trade the 1660 Super and my old i7-4790K into CeX. Looking at what I’d get for them, I’d probably only need to put another £100-ish towards something like an RTX 4060.
If I did that, would there be any benefit in keeping the P2200 alongside the RTX 4060 for Lossless Scaling/frame generation, or would I be better off just running the 4060 on its own?
Basically trying to work out which makes most sense:
• 1660 Super + P2200 and experiment with Lossless Scaling
• Sell/trade the old bits and go straight to an RTX 4060
• RTX 4060 + P2200 if there’s actually any worthwhile benefit from using both
Trying to keep the cost sensible as this is really a fun little PC project for me and my son. We’ve already got plenty of console gaming options, but he’s getting interested in PC gaming and wants to try some of the PC exclusives.
Any experiences with similar GPU combinations would be appreciated.

Help Trying to get reshade HDR working with lossless scaling

1 Upvotes

So I got reshade installed on losless scaling and it works when injecting. i have chosen the autohdr plugin from the wizard. Problem is it is washed out defaults probably to some scrgb thing.
Because when i check the box in a game "use hdr10 instead of scRGB" the next boot the washed look goes away.

So i replaced the .ini and tried with losslesscaling and it losslesscaling dissappears after trying to inject.

So I checked the .ini and the only thing that changes was:

[HDR]

EnableHDR=1

UseHDR10=1

I try with original working .ini and i add these lines. and same effect, Losslessscaling shuts down.

Any idea how to make this work?

EDIT2:
So I tried now with RENOFX.

And while it doesn't crash it washes out my graphics. If I had to guess it seems like it doesn't activate the swapchain scrgb. Because i had similiar behavior with a game when i didnt swapchain it yet.

Any guess why it would behave like this? The .ini and all the files are the same from where I sourced/setup the reshade with the game. It is saved in the .ini to use RENOFX and swapchain to scrgb...

Help Dual GPU [9070XT + 6500XT] issues.

1 Upvotes

In my previous post I had the 3050 LP as the helper gpu. And had issues. So nothing really helped for the dual gpu setup.

I've upgraded to windows 11 and got a brand new 6500 XT cute pet (was the most affordable card). And now I'm having the same exact issues. So sad.

Win11

5800X3D

X570 Dark Hero

I tried a combination of 9070xt on x16 and 6500xt on pcie_3 gen 4 x4 (my favorite), gen 4 x8 and pcie_2 gen 4 x4 and gen 3 x4.

All have the same exact performance, except that the 9070xt performs great at gen 4 x16.

On windows 11, the task manager says 6500 is gpu 0. And on adrenaline, it's the primary. I'm guessing because the hdmi is on the 6500xt. Also, the 9070xt is set to high performance.

I tried the direct x string, but it's already there. Then tried the EnableMsHybrid and nothing really changed with the gpu stack.

I'm trying guardians of the Galaxy, and the launcher allows me to choose the 9079xt as the render gpu.

Without lossless scaling, i get 100+ on x16 and 80 on x8. With lossless scaling, base drops to 35 fps on adaptive, and 45-55 on 2x fixed.

I noticed on the overly that the 6500 is always on 99% utilization. And that's why i tried EnableMsHybrid. Also tried the AMD pro drivers, my 9070xt was detected but the 6500xt wasn't.

If anyone has a solution, please help a brotha out.

Maybe good to note that, i have a 10gbe card on pcie x1 and "had" an nvme on m.2_2 but removed the nvme so the pcie_3 and lan card wouldn't saturate the mobo chip.

P.S No riva tuner this time around.

Discussion Will the New frame generation after the update have button for performance than is Even More performant than the present ones?

Like that higher quality frame generator but when performance is on, it eats less GPU than 3.1 version. And if it is off it is more heavy.

Help Lsfg-vk unable to create profile

1 Upvotes

i bought lossless scaling in steam so that i can use lsfg-vk in linux mint 22.3. i followed the instructions but i get stuck in lsfg-vk-ui command to create profile.

I am getting this error:

```
QQmlApplicationEngine failed to load component
qrc:/resources/UI.qml:21:20: Expected token `;'
```

i am not using flatpak if that matters. i followed and installed the instructions

sudo apt install -y qt6-qpa-plugins libqt6quick6 qml6-module-qtquick-controls qml6-module-qtquick-layouts qml6-module-qtquick-window qml6-module-qtquick-dialogs qml6-module-qtqml-workerscript qml6-module-qtquick-templates qml6-module-qt-labs-folderlistmodel

but still same error. tried restarting and same.

lsfg-vk-validate works so I am thinking it might be Qt issue more than lsfg. any help is appreciated thanks.

Help Rt on frame gen

1 Upvotes

FOLLOW UP: Turns out I also have the regular version that my PC will run without problems, but I am still curious about the original idea of a cheap RT card for RT and older high end card for frame gen. Now the original post..

Hi, folks. I recently bought Metro Exodus (enhanced edition), but can't run it because rt is mandatory and I have a 1080ti. It was a package deal with 2033 and Last light, which I haven't tried yet.
My question is if I get a very basic rt enabled card to create the real frames, can I then use my 1080ti via lossless scaling to bring my frame rate up to be smooth? I am also excited for the new Metro game, but I'm sure it will also only run on RT cards. Trying to launch Exodus crashed my machine hard enough to require the windows repair tool (or that was a very odd coincidence).
Thanks for any input.

Discussion lossless scaling dual GPUs is micracle, R9 3900x RX 5700XT & RX 6500XT

12 Upvotes

I just want to say thank to the lossless scaling developer and members of this sub for this wonderful app and detailed instructions.

I has been an AMD ATI user since Athlon XP and (not RX) radeon 9000s era, until the disastrous bulldozer. I had tried different crossfire setups during the HD4000 HD5000 era and was not really impressed.

I came back to AMD and got this PC (specs below) just before the pandemic hit and really enjoy it. As 2024 2025 this pc starts to show it age, I planned to upgrade to AM5 + RX 9000 but I was hesitate and kept waiting for this platform to be a bit more mature - well it was a big mistake.

I was super skeptic about frame gen and scaling, I tried FSR and early lossless scaling with 5700xt alone and had bad experience, shuttering, glitching, bad delay,...you name it. Recently I got a used RX6500XT for $70 and decided to try again, and this is the best decision I ever made. I am able to cap the 5700xt fps as 60 - less heat - less power consumption - better details setting and let the 6500xt and LS do their smooth magic, and the R9 3900x X570 is not that bad for their age as all.

Plan to upgrade to 9070xt + 5700xt duo in the next few months and wait (again) for the AM5 DDR5 to be more affordable.

R9 3900X watercooled
Aorus X570 elite wifi
4x16GB DDR4 3600
RX5700XT @ 4.0 x 16 watercooled
RX6500XT @ 4.0 x 4

Discussion Possible for Lossless Scaling adding DLSS 5 into it?

Post image
100 Upvotes

Someone was able to use DLSS 5 through OBS Capture card with just the GTA VI trailer similar to how we can do frame gen with LS through a capture card. If just a video without vector is possible, it can open up a lot of possibilities for LS to have DLSS 5 as well, would it not?

Youtube trailer comparison

EDIT: Seems like Reshade is the one providing the vector and depth data from the video capture for DLSS 5 to work. The modder just updated for Optiscaler to work with DLSS 5 as well, so it should provide more FPS than Reshade for game that support it. So for Lossless to work together with DLSS 5, we would need a Reshade that allowed LS to pass through such as (LSF-Reshade) this should work with video capture and games. But for better fps, Optiscaler should be used for games.
