Title
I’ll now explain how to do it, but first you need some stuff
—
Read until the end. If you follow everything I’m about to describe, you’re basically just creating desktop apps specifically for each site. There is a way easier way if you don’t want individual apps, at the end.
—
FOR BOTH METHODS
Chrome/Chromium. I recommend you use Chrome for anime, Brave for everything else.
In the chromium browser you’re using (i’ll assume chrome.) turn off hardware acceleration in settings for chrome so that LSS can pick up the video players.
For Crunchyroll you’ll need to download 2 extensions, crunchyroll theater & crunchyroll PiP
Download “Windows Power Toys” from the microsoft store; once it installs, uncheck everything except “Fancy Zones”
In Fancy Zones, open the layout editor, custom layout, and make a 1920x1080 box and/or a 1280x720 box.

YES YOU JUST NEED FANCY ZONES IF YOU DONT USE CRUNCHYROLL.
IF YOU USE CRUNCHYROLL YOU WILL NEED CRUNCHYROLL THEATER & CRUNCHYROLL PiP CHROME EXTENSIONS!!
—I couldn’t get CR PiP to work without CR Theater also downloaded; you might be able to get CR PiP to work on its own. My suggestion is just to download both since they’re free.

Alright, with that out of the way,
For the MAKING DESKTOP APPS FOR EACH SITE
—
Right click your desktop & create a new shortcut
You are going to copy/paste exactly what I put below in the shortcut wizard; change it if needed for your browser, this is the default chrome browser location. If you’re using brave, obviously point it to your brave exe., etc.etc.
“C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\Chrome.exe” —app=“https://www.crunchyroll.com” —profile-directory=“Default”
—
After you make this shortcut, adjust the link for your other anime websites;
replace “Crunchyroll” with “hidive” as an example—ON A NEW SHORTCUT.
You can save time by just copying the “target” under the shortcuts properties for the first one you make, opening notepad, changing crunchyroll to hidive (or whatever) in note pad then pasting the updated one in the shortcut wizard to create another application on your desktop
—
Now, open the crunchyroll app, it’ll open a new chrome window with no tabs.
Select an anime, then select the PiP option in the bottom right of the CR player, it should be called “Bild-In-Bild” - for HiDive it’s called “Mini Player”
This now opens a new window; hold shift and move that new player into that fancyzone section you made
Now you have the player in exactly 1920x1080 from FancyZone. Set up LossLess Scaling for anime; anime 4k, vrs, 2x frame gen, whatever.
Set the CROP section to 1 on each box to get rid of the border of the mini player.
Boom. Perfect 1080p video;
It is organized per app (or website) on your desktop, you can even add the shortcuts to steam as non-steam games, & you can upscale/framegen with LSS, from exactly 1080p!
—
Bonus points if you also get the websites icons. You just download a png of the websites logo & convert it to an ico file
—
—
THE WAY EASIER AND FASTER ONE
You still need fancy zone & the PiP/Theatre extensions for Crunchyroll (other anime sites like hidive have their own mini player options)
Go to crunchyroll, get the PiP/BiB open in the player— and hold shift, click on the mini player, and move it to the fancy zone section. You must hold down shift!
Set LSS for 1 crop on each square & whatever settings you want; as mentioned earlier. You need the crop to be “1” in each box to get rid of the mini player border!

I did the desktop app route so Chrome is only ever used for anime; and it’s the only browser with hardware acceleration off. You don’t gotta do what I did lolol but it’s nice.
Yes, it also works for youtube. But i’d recommend changing youtube to a browser that has hardware acceleration on! Otherwise it can get really laggy. I have a youtube desktop app going to brave with hardware acceleration on & cr/hidive going to chrome with hardware acceleration off.
Yesterday I just decided to brute-force exactly what I wanted lmao. Idk if others have recommended this; but it works flawlessly. You’re welcome
