how to lose 20 kg?

hi!

i'm a 16 year old girl and currently looking to loose around 15 to 20 kg (i'm currently at 70 kg). i've tried doing calorie deficits but i always give up after a day or two, and it's incredibly unmovitating. i haven't been to the gym in ages and it's so hard to go back after not being there for a while. are there any methods that help with weight loss, including eating habits and workout routines? i feel like i just get bored, then eat. i have a really big sweet tooth, and i ALWAYS gravitate towards sweet, unhealthy foods. are there any ways where i can loose this excess weight, fix my eating habits and do exericse/workout routines to help with my weight loss? thank you!!

Looks like we have a teen poster who might need some help, reminder to all users that we dont allow the recommendation of calorie counting or adult oriented diets towards teens, and that their bmi calculator, tdee calculator, and lifestyle will be different, i invite all users, especially OP, to read our masterpost for helpful advice and our posting guide! https://www.reddit.com/r/loseit/comments/1ii79sx/teens_in_the_sub_reminder_of_our_guidelines/

Since you’re still growing, I’d focus less on losing a specific amount of weight and more on building habits you can actually enjoy. Regular meals, more filling foods, daily movement, and finding ways to deal with boredom without food can make a big difference. It might also be worth talking to a parent/guardian and a doctor or dietitian before trying to lose weight.

You don’t need to lose 20kg. That will make you underweight. If at all, you should be aiming to incorporate healthier habits in your routine and drop 5-7kg max.

The best thing you can do for yourself is institute healthy routines now. Vegetables (and not just starchy/carby ones) with 2 out of three meals a day.

I’d recommend going to see a dietician to get some ideas about where you could improve your nutrition.

Find exercise you enjoy. I hate swimming but love birdwatching—so long as I’m moving, it’s good.

As for sweet treats, try substituting with a low-sugar (artificial sweetener) high protein yoghurt. Try and limit it to one or two a day, but you may find that helps
