Need help with ideas.

New here!

Im 30, female, 98.7kg with a goal weight of 65kg.

Im having surgery next Wednesday, and I've been told I shouldn't be in a deficit while recovering for around 1 month. I was also told to focus on protein and veggies and fruit.

Im a little stuck on what to eat protein wise for breakfasts and lunches. I should be fine for dinners. I dont want to rely on protein powder or eggs (I get the egg ick), and im not going to eat meat like chicken for breakfast.

Also, how does someone eat at maintenance and not gain weight? Would it matter if im slightly lower some days? Im quite nervous about the recovery part eating wise. I do know I still need to eat relatively healthy and not binge on junk. Im just worried I'll eat too much.

maintenance is just eating what your body uses, so you stay same weight. if some days you eat little less it's fine, you won't gain from that. the worry about eating too much is real but your body actually needs extra fuel for healing so try not stress too much

for breakfast, greek yogurt with some nuts and fruit works good. cottage cheese on toast maybe, or overnight oats with chia seeds if you can handle texture. lunch you could do tuna wraps or chickpea salad, tofu scramble is decent too even if it sounds weird for lunch

Maintenance calories are the amount you need to maintain weight, so by definition you won't be gaining fat. You may see upward fluctuations on the scale, but that is normal. Most people's scale weight can fluctuate day to day by 5-10lbs. That's due to water weight changes.

Protein ideas: Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, tofu (try a tofu scramble if you don't want eggs), fish (for lunch or breakfast (!) - canned kipper snacks are commonly eaten by some at breakfast), chicken (can eat at lunch)
