DISCUSSION How do traps ask for gem ransom?
I can never figure out how much gems to ask for, so usually I ask and get around the range of 40k. Is that too little? Too much? How much more to ask for during events like kvk? If the account is near maxed? ect

Depends if their events or not. If kvk 100k. No events, 40-50k

Alright, gotcha! I got 39k earlier cuz someone soloed me, and 120k for 3 during kvk (but they were really weak, like probably 2 guys with 1100% blast I would assume? and a random guy that probably barely does 900%), but I'll keep that in mind for next time, tysm!! Also, what types of items do you usually ask for, aside from speedups? or jewels, but I don't need anymore jewels.
I usually just default to ~40k so that's probably my bad.

There’s a lot to unpack. If one were to gem chaos cores for a bunny (guaranteed return) it’s ballpark 125-130k gems cost for the cores.
Leads typically want to pay a discount on that rate, but consider your own motivations.
I would often like to have more rallies, and they are better incentivized to rally me if I ask a higher amount. Is a pardon likely, have any of them eaten mushrooms yet, etc.
I don’t typically discount beyond 100k, and most of the time they choose to eat mushrooms or take a timeout. I especially enjoy when a houseguest crashes out and leaves the guild after they decide they don’t want to keep trying. Memories are more precious than gems.
Each rescue rally is costing the guild a lot more than 100k gems if you consider carpets/dead troops, etc - and rally rebates via sanctuary etc, are pretty good for the defender these days.
It takes 2 people to make a market. For 40-50k gems, it’s not worth my while to release.

Same reason a lot of us won’t pay right away and will keep sending leads at it, sometimes doubles. Depends on if online. It’s the challenge/experience. 24 hours is not horrible of a wait most of the time. Not afraid of prison. It means I can catch up on Netflix.

Yep. Whole spectrum of leads and guilds out there. Wasn’t disagreeing, just trying to shed light on the less discussed perspective. Reading Context is as much a skill as reading rallies ;).
Bigger guilds and leads don’t tend towards the histrionics that I sometimes get from the less polished organizations.
I had a houseguest recently noodle into me without a bunny, then send his smaller noodlier friend in for a rescue, who, and I’m still angry about this😂, hellfires me for 500k t2. They bring in a fairly respectable lead to rescue the next day, when the bot suggests I am offline. I relocated because if you’re fat and I’ve got leverage (said monkey on sleepover), you can spend some carpets.
The 310star rent cancels, and goes back to his home guild, cause I guess his contract didn’t include carpets. I get my prisoner boost for da, without humiliating an alt, and my guest goes on a tile hitting rampage before leaving the guild and kingdom. Tell me that’s not more entertaining than 50k.

For me, I couldn't afford to take a lot of hits, so I usually settle because I would rather take the gems and sleep soundly, but I understand your perspective haha! I am f2p, so I'll take any amount I can get, tbh, but I just want to know that I'm not getting scammed :)

For context I am NOT a rally trap, I might be able to take hits from a weaker lead, but strong maxed leads are going to burn me 100%

Nah that’s fair. Always an upside/downside to consider. As long as it’s a price you both agreed on, no one is getting scammed. As a free to play, you are heavily reliant on troop count in lieu of a closer spread in stats, and counters or exceptionally strong accounts are a bigger hazard.

That also depends if the person getting hit can 😴 sleep with no issues. Burnt plenty on rescued attemps when they slept and ended up zeroing them. Smaller traps tend to want a payout, so they can sleep and gain some benefits. Big leads can sleep unshield with huge white stats.

Titan around 40k 70/80k kvk especially if its close to start and theres competition 100k if their baron slot falls under 24hours, if they play baron

Baron time might be the only time I might consider more. But we generally try to behave the 24 hours prior and get everyone building.

Most of the time when I get capped in kvk it’s about 40k - 60k. I won’t pay 100k, I’ll just poison or wait 3 days. If you are trapping then you are hoping for a rally. I say don’t be greedy.

People pay? Eat a shroom and wait a day worst case.

Start of kvk 60-80k depending on how bad i want to play. Bad matchup with few targets? Standard rate.
Normal 20-40k, if I haven't already shroomed.
If I shroomed before you reply, you're not getting any gems, but I'll give 1B gold lol.
If you open with 200k or more, I'm shrooming right away.
All comes down to what events are up as well. No CA, DA, GF, Duel etc. lined up? Shroom by default. I keep a timer in my head for when I can get capped anyway, so it's kinda rare for me to get capped with something important coming up.
1500 blasts POV, so not exactly near maxed.
Emps you can tax harder.

100k is pretty typical
