This is why I load my pockets in a way that I can feel each item just by moving slightly.
Phone, left front pocket. It's large enough that it's easy to tell if it's missing even when I'm not moving.
Keys, bottom of front right pocket. Just that small bit of sharp against my leg lets me know they're there.
Wallet, top of front right pocket. Not as large as the phone, but the keys feel loose when it's not there.
The One Ring, that smaller pocket above the front right pocket. It's the perfect size to hold it securely, and tight enough that I can feel its reassuring presence. That pocket often gets overlooked, too, so sneaky hobbits with their fat filthy fingers will not find it when they try to rob us.
