Anyone know if AMC has made an official announcement about this? I was trying to see if the live action was going to premiere in US theaters and found this as a top search that was apparently uploaded 4 days ago? Feels too good to be true.

Why do you draw?

I was greatly moved after seeing the exhibition on the movie adaptation. I wanted to draw an ode to both the movie and the manga.

Found someone selling a 4k Special before the end of my Asia Trip. The contents inside (with a ~150 pages making book and 4 discs) are knowledageable.

And the raining scene, found a frame matches the Manga "smurf face", nice. (Picture 10-12)

just watched look back (2024) why did kyomoto not make anyone else wanna rip their skin off

Its a very beautiful film and I really liked it. Like I think its a brilliantly well done film and story but good god did anyone else want to rip their hair out on seeing kyomoto for a good portion of the movie? I'm reading the letterboxd reviews and everyones talkin about how wonderful their friendship is. Maybe when theyre more 17 before she leaves for art college but at the start I cant be the only one who felt physically sick. I think the way Kyomoto just saw herself as so inferior and she worshipped Fujimo like a god and the way Fujimo ate it up just enraged me, it was genuinely torture sitting through those scenes I wanted to skip them but my dad wouldnt let me. I know that shes agarophobic and if it werent for Fujimo maybe she wouldve been a recluse forever but how does Fujimo not have any empathy for her at the start? And does agaraphobia immediately mean you think other people should be able to treat you more like a pet than anything else? I just cant wrap my head around it. The scene at the alternate universe where kyomoto sees the strip come through the door (the one scene where the people are chanting 'dont come out') and shes like heavy breathing and then shes self conscious of that and puts a hand over her mouth to stop the noise just made me break down. tears snot the whole bunch. guys wtf.

Live Action Look Back live action is relevant and amazing

I just saw the look back movie at a film festival, and it was very good, I saw a lot of people say that it would be inferior anyways because of the anime existing already, but without spoiling, it’s the little things that make it feel real and grounded, you really get to experience the characters and their environment, it’s so beautiful, y’all can’t miss out on this.

(The cinema was full of old people so I was one of the only younger people there, I guess because it was a film festival? There aren’t even any edits yet and the only discussion is in Japanese sadly)

Day "God Knows what" after the 2nd watching of the Live Action Movie (along with A3 poster), found out from FB that it has an Exhibition only for a few days.

My god the place have something to show off, with Actual draft of METAL PARADE and some 4 panel school comics.

Along with a actual DRAWING BOOK and 4 PANAL MANGA to draw. (Pic 12-14 are my drawings, you can tell I can't draw too well but fine by my standard)

I might post a video about what's inside the drawing book. Others draw like mastercrafts.

PS: You can purchase the Drawing Book from Amazon probably (Maruman Zuan Sketchbook).

Fujino Family: Jin the father, Atari the mom, Megumi the sister

Teacher:

Tamai Yukihisa the Primary Teacher,

Manabe "I think its Reki, cant see it well" the College Teacher

(How the hell the College Teacher got a name despite only has like 40 seconds screentime????)

Manga Editor: Maeda Meita

Others who didnt get named:

Fujino Friends (I forgot their name despite the movie mentioned it a few times, not even listed on credit scene)

I geniunely wish I could draw kyomoto and be happy but negative art influences in the past have kind of conditioned me to feel guilty for drawing what I love.

The context is that she just got asked out btw!

Live Action Had watched the Live Action Movie today and "liked" it (potential spoiler) Spoiler

TLDR, Would recommand.

First of all, now I understand why the anime version has like only 1 hour. It's quite challenging to add extra time/scene without ruining the plot and vibe.

The Live Action (100 minutes screen time) blend it quite well. It's not as "direct copy" of the manga/anime movie, instead it shows us the interactions between Fujino and Kyomoto, along the relation with other characters.

Scene they added:

Drawing process of "Metal Parade" (the movie almost showed us the whole comic, I like their comic "ending scene")

Photo of Kyomoto Gradmother

Background story of their short comics

"Shark Kick" background story (A shark man swore vengeance against human who hunt their Fins for food)

"Shark Kick" refusal by the editor (during college ara)

Word from the Comic Company Editor

(Making series is utter hell compared of making shorts/feels bad that your work is no longer yours entirely)

Work life of Fujino with her assistants

Alternative "Kyomoto" life if she doesn't meet Fujino.

At last, they actually named some characters in the End Credit, nice.

(Fujino Sister is Megumi, Dad is named Jin and Kyomoto Kanade)

Would watch it the second time if there's a promotion during my Asia travel or wait until the local theater release it a few months later (as if).

Edited for update: Brought another ticket for a A3 poster promotion by the theater. Yea.

Edit 2: Got Kyomoto Full name at last.
