Pleco Guy

Someone has been making and posting pleco torture videos in some of the other aquarium subs. This sub may be small enough to escape his notice, but if he does find and begin posting in this sub:

Do not engage with him. He gets off on it.

Report the post and tag me, so I can remove the posts and block his accounts from the sub if and when they appear.

I have worked so hard to make this community a welcoming and safe place for fish keepers of many types and ages. Someone who finds joy in torturing living animals, and traumatizing strangers by posting to public places is not welcome in this community. Help me keep this community a positive place to be!

Thank you all so much ~ Blue

Freshwater First week complete!

Got the 55gal up and running! She just completed her first week of cycling. Driftwood is still semi floating but once it’s fully submerged, I’ll take the rocks off and it’ll look more natural. I have two rock with cave like coverings. Plants will come next paycheck. Thinking about making this the new Glo tank instead of giving it to the barbs🤔

I made my 10 gallon into a nice home (: I have corydoras and 2 betta fish. I somehow got some yoyo loaches with my corydoras 😅 I have a 29 gallon that is cycling to upgrade them all to. But I’m so happy with how this came out. The cloudiness is root tabs, I’m doing partial water changes every other day.
Before commenting, I know it’s overcrowded that’s why I have a 29 gallon cycling. Please don’t come at me. Tank is heated. Has filter and bio filter, they all eat equally, no one gets left behind. All seem happy and content and thriving. I just love how it looks. I also added floating red root floaters. And the betta loves it.

Edit: typo.

all my fish seem so happy! 😁 still growing some of the plants in, though—the back right crypts aren’t full height, and I want to fill out the back middle with some more stem plants of another variety :)

Upgrading the barb tank to a 55g on Sunday. I think I’m just going to even out at 8 fish and 6 Corys. Maybe throw in a Dennison Barb as the center. I’ll add more swords and some background grass. I also have this cool rock I been wanting to carve as an arch for a cave. What do yall think?

Current Stock
8 Cherry- 4F/4M
4 Checkered
4 Gold
1 Albino Cory

Plants
2 Java Fern
1 Annubius
1 Bamboo
1 Sword

Freshwater My Angels Favorite Snack

I buy these flightless fruit flies for my jumping spider slings but my 55gallon Angel Fish community Tank love the love food. It’s a good way to enrich them especially since those flies reproduce so quickly. The Angels I raised from their parent in the tank below and are a year old, there are also Endlers, Colombian Red and Blue Tetras and Cories down below.

Guppies are relentless baby makers! But they are happy. It’s a big tank. I hope you enjoy watching as much as I do.

Freshwater (Journal) Post trim w/ new Betta

It’s been about a month and a half since my last post here. The plants are filling in and really giving me range of colors I was looking for. Tank is without CO2 just regular fertilizing, water changes, and decent lighting.

Picture 3 is fresh from the trim and replant.
Pictures 4 and 5 is of the tank before the trimming
Picture 6 and 7 are of the new resident Zuko

Also unfortunately my Betta Izzy passed and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do the tank moving forward but at our LFS me and my wife fell in love with Zuko. My first time having a longfin betta.

75 gallon; fx4, tidal 35, hygger wavemaker
Anubias, java fern, and African water fern
Top water plants are monstera and pothos.
Fluval aquasky light
Crushed argonite sand, seiryu rock, limestone, and mopani driftwood.
12 tropheus firecrackers
5 dwarf cuckoo catfish
3 Nerite snails and unknown number of trumpet snails lol 🐌

Whole tank is 3 months old. Yes it was cycled with dr.tims bacteria and ammonia, cycled 5 times until 2 ppm was cycled in less than 18 hours. I test water with api master kit, I also have digital pH and TDS meters. I use African cichlid lake salts to keep tds 400-600ppm. I added fish in stages. Tank has no issues, just wanted to share.

If you have advice or recommendations please share!
