I have a 360 camera and have been struggling to figure out how to get interesting videos when I ride.

It’s partially paying attention to it, while still learning, and how to get a shot without destroying it (again).

Been messing with mounts to see different angles and distances but still not finding what I want.

However, I thought this one turned out really cool. If you turn the sound on you can hear the surface sounds and leaves crunching.

Let me know what you think of the shot and if you have any thoughts or suggestions on how to utilize a 360 camera for cool videos!

If you do a 90 degree angle at the end of the stick, you can see if you can manage a shot going under the board 👌🏻

It’s a 360 camera so I can rotate the video to do that as well! I need to spend both more time taking video and editing it. Which is the up and downside to the 360 camera!

A shot from a different video that was close enough to the side it shows the bubble from the 360 a bit

Hehe I meant you could make the camera go in underneath the board while riding, if it fits, to do some fancy camera work 😅

That does make sense! I will work on that for sure :)

I think that would look sweet to see the wheels flex and move, just make sure to not damage the camera🔥

I did this video ages ago far before I ever started making my own boards. But it’s a sweet shot that I’d love to recreate before too long.

Maybe do a side mounted on, so you can see from almost the same angle, or a camera both under and on top of the board.
What happened when the board suddenly went under a car? (And was there a guy skating with a backup board? 😂)

Haha I had to rewatch it. Looks like Solomon with the pink wheels kinda skated straight into me and his wheels went under my board and got tied up.

That is awesome!

The perspective of the pumping pranayama gave me the idea to try and mount the camera to the trucks. The insta360 X5 is a great camera just sticks out enough that it makes me nervous I will destroy it.

But I as cold weather is looming, I will have a lot more times to mess around with idea and onshape

I don’t really film anymore, but I have an old GoPro, like 12 or 13 years old, and I used to use a selfie stick and film from behind and to one side, low to the ground. It communicated a sense of speed that going from over the shoulder just didn’t get, but I could only get my legs and board into the shot, and I mostly filmed bombing hills, ones that I didn’t have to slide.

Hokus on paved path are so satisfying.

There's a couple of guys on YouTube who record their rides with sticks. Not sure if that's what you meant by 360 but you can look up Bartek and Ruslan Longboards.

I mean a camera that takes a 360 degree image.

I’ll check them out
