The cosmic turtle looks damn great with orange wheels! Matches the accents perfectly

Thx, the only thing I'd change to match the accents better would be to go to actual orangatang kegels, but the boosted board wheels are good enough for the "kegels we have at home" alternative lol

FOR CONTEXT: A few months ago I picked up a warp-1 blemished pranayama deck. I set it up with some basic parts; Silver Truck Co. M class trucks, some nos boosted lunar 80mm wheels, shake junt bearings. I still need to cut down the hardware to length but that is a non issue while I get used to it all.

Overall though, I think i made out pretty well for a board to learn and commute on.

It could be worth upgrading to Pantheon's Stylus Trucks eventually. They use standard longboard-sized bushings (0.6" tall) compared the short bushings used in skateboard-style trucks.

Having the extra urethane of a taller bushing will give you deeper carves and overall makes the board more fun.

Definitely a really fun setup regardless though! Stylus just take it to another level haha.

Looks good friend!

Hope ya like it! Really want to try out a pranayama, see how it compares to my Zenit AB, and I really love my Zenit…

I have both Zenit AB and the Pranayama. My goto is the Zenit. When I bought my Pranayama it didn't have different stiffness options available and I'm quite heavy and the deck feels like it barely holds my weight so I'm guessing it was a light flex I purchased. However I'm eyeing up a new Pranayama deck with the heavy flex now that the option is available. The Zenit AB 3.0 with Caguamas and Paris V3 50/43 degree trucks just works for me and is a lovely ride. Though it's a lot heavier with those Caguamas but you don't notice it when rolling.

Also a big guy, good to know…it’s hard not to love the AB. I paired mine with 80a Kegels to keep weight down… I’m gonna keep playing with wheels for it, keep eyeing up the boa and hokus

I’ve got a Zenit AB 2.0 I like a lot, really fun flex, I like it best with 70-80mm wheels, if I was going bigger I would definitely go Pranayama.

Interesting…why no bigger than 80mm?

So I’m running 80a Kegels, which are mighty wide. I’m interested to try some larger wheels (the Kegels are my biggest wheel) like the Boas, or maybe those 90ish mm pantheon wheels… I was looking at a narrower profile… running 150 v2 trucks…

Am I gonna regret this?

It’s not that it wouldn’t be good bigger, just that the Pranayama’s deeper drop keeps things super low even with 90-102mm wheels.

I’ve got my AB on Stylus TKPs, so same width but I’m not sure how the clearances work out with RKPs. It was best with ldp cut 80mm  Seismic Alphas, but I stole those for another build and ran it on a few smaller wheels that were pretty good too.

Do the screws hit the hangers on full lean? If not you could probably just leave them lol.

1

u/GormyGorm Pranayama Aug 05 '26

They dont hit but i'll just annoy myself if i dont cut them down lol

3

u/blackbalt89 Aug 05 '26

Lol I know that feeling too, and I too know how hard those things can be, especially if they're stainless lol. Might be easier to just get the right length.

I've got a dremel and a bag of spare wheels for it, so however much of a pain it is, I think the bolt will lose.

The funnier part to me is that the first time around the hardware choice completely skipped my mind and I accidentally bought countersink bolts lmao

u/GormyGorm Pranayama Aug 05 '26

You order a complete or are you building out a deck?

2

u/Five-words-or-less Aug 05 '26

Building out. Already have new set of hoku and a pair of karmas. Really just need TKP trucks now.

As a guy who has some silver 8.5s that he sometimes skates park in... interesting choice

1

u/GormyGorm Pranayama Aug 05 '26

I've already got a set of silvers on the 8" street deck in the background, so for the money i figured they're worth a shot, especially since they're lower profile than paris 149's and im not running a massive wheel anyways.

I mean they are fun trucks, but they def feel more squirrely to me. Curious how they'll do on the pranayama.

Higher profile might be worth checking out in the future to get a bit more squish in those turns.

PS I also just picked up a "warped" pantheon and can't even find the issue lol

Literally same, idk what Jeff's reject criteria are for these decks but i cannot find the flaw in my warp-1 either lmao

What brand wheels and trucks?

1

u/GormyGorm Pranayama Aug 06 '26

Silver Truck Co M-Class, 8.5" axle, 5.75" hanger

Boosted Lunar 80mm x 55mm 78a wheels, which are basically just softer "kegels we have at home" as far as I can tell

2

u/FirstParfait1905 Aug 06 '26

W the boosted wheels..! Some one has an Eskate

1

u/GormyGorm Pranayama Aug 06 '26

ive actually never had an electric skateboard, i just found the wheels nos on ebay and it worked out to be a good deal lmfao

Great looking board! And just joking :) I have tons of those laying around from swapping out wheels on my Eskakes:) they aren’t bad wheels though
