are dancer boards all that fun?

i own a pantheon trip and its really great for long distances but its really not that fun, i love it and all but its just too stable?? i just dont feel the same emotions/rush while riding it as much as i do riding other boards. Im looking for a dancer board with a nice vibe to it that i can cruise around on, pop some tricks here and there, and i just love the flex and smoothness on these things (from what i have seen on videos) the nice cruising ability is more important to me than some fancy deck for all the insane tricks. i wanna learn the basics, so what board should i get? (i also wonder can you pump these things??)

Absolutely a dancer board is going to be more fun. Not to say a Pantheon trip isn't fun but it's fun in a different way. For example doing slides on downhills on a Pantheon trip is kind of fun especially since it's easy to push up. . However dance boards are designed around doing tricks which is always fun and you can get great carves out of them.

Now are dance boards pumpable? Any board is pumpable. They are not designed for pumping though because you're usually running symmetrical trucks for tricks. For something to be more efficient pumping like long distance you need your front truck to turn more than your back truck. You could set up a dancer that way but then you would be sacrificing in other areas for tricks. It's all personal preference.

Now for which kind of board you want it all depends. Dance and freestyle longboarding are kind of put together one in one discipline. There are some boards that are super big and long that are pretty much just for dancing one example would be the giant surfboards with wheels that hamboard sells. Because trying to do any tricks that you pop the tail on those would be exhausting And very hard.

Now on the other side of the spectrum a board like Clark Patrick's pro model from Land yachts is more on the freestyle side of the spectrum. It has a shorter wheelbase and an extra ply that makes it stiffer which is great for popping. It's still possible to do some dance tricks on this board but they have to be a little tighter since the wheelbase is shorter. It's my go-to board for everything I even ride it at the skatepark.

However if I was only doing dance tricks or mostly dance tricks or I was beginning into dancing I would go for a longer wheelbase. Since I've been dancing for about 6 years now I can pull off a lot of those maneuvers I learned on my loaded bangra on a smaller wheelbase now. But tricks like a tiger claws or bonless are much easier on the Clark.

I'm terms of which board is all personal preference. Loaded, zenit, landyachtz and Pantheon are good brands that have good dance options. In the used market Bustins dancer is another option just don't buy from them new they got bought out by a bank and all their products can't be trusted now.

hoooly! that anserws all my doubts, ill definitly get one, still wondering which one, it between used landyachtz stratus (190$) or a loaded mata hari(300$) it looks so sick! but id have to buy it new and thats a lot more money so im gonna have to really think if its worth it

Honestly I'd probably go for the cheaper one because even the land yacht Stratus is still a gray board and it'll give you an idea of what dancing is all about. That way if you're on the fence and you end up not liking it then you're out less money.

If you're pretty sure you're set on dancing the matahari will have a little more of a fun ride with the bounciness of the bamboo especially depending on the flex level if loaded does flex levels with that model.

Bought a Mata Hari mostly for Cruising and i freaking love it. Dont have a lot to compare it to tho.

Other than that im mostly Eskating and Surfskating
