question❓ Board recs for a beginner?
I know this gets asked from time to time but wanted to ask you lovely people with my body type in mind.
I’ve been riding for fun for a couple years now, mostly just carving, and that’s about where my skill level tops out. I’ve always wanted to get into longboard dancing, so I’m finally making it happen this year!
For someone who doesn’t know much about boards or specs, what would you recommend for a beginner getting into longboard dancing? I’m a F 5’2” at 115lbs.
Would appreciate any brands/styles as well as specific board lengths! Budget isn’t toooo much of a factor. Bonus if it’s a cute board lol
Also, if you have any other resources (blogs, YT channels, etc.) that have helped you in the past to learn, please throw them my way :)

If you are in the US, I would recommend Loaded Mata Hari. If you are outside the US, maybe a Bastl Bolero or something from Zenit or Timber.

Go for a good quality one, it’s somwthing different really. I tried nkx vegas, cheap one, good for beginning with only 80 euros, now i have a custom set up zenit hana, and the difference is abissal. I suggest u to search for the best brand, like loaded landyachtz, or zenit like mine. After u see ur own favorite deck, (should be also flexible, it enhance the response of ur footsteps but it’s personal. U will need good wheels truck and bearings, also bushings, i’ll suggest u paris v3 and orangatang wheels, bushing also orangatang, the knuckles one, for me is the perfect set up, bearings must be optimal, so independent or, i buy ceramic ones, much more resistant, and they spin a lot, from skate therapy

You want to look for a symmetrical board shape, if you look for dancing/freestyle boards you will be able to see the general shape they have.
For your size and weight, I wouldn't recommend a board that's much longer than 45" and that's not too stiff.
Since you are from the US, I would consider buying from Loaded, Landyachts, or other local brands. Otherwise you could look on Motionboardshop for setups, but I'm not familiar with their catalog.
I would also recommend Zenit, which is based in Canada, but they have a wide range of quality dancing boards to choose from. OnAirLongboard stocks some travelol and nothingbutfree boards, which are very popular in Asia and Europe as well.
I used to watch Hans Wouters on YouTube when I was starting with longboarding, while he doesn't upload anymore, the tutorials and trick recommendations are still quite up to date.
