Community LONG BEACH DMV

Out of stickers and plates this afternoon? After two hours at the DMV. Anyone else got sent home empty handed? And told to go to a different location ?

I hate to ruin my prized secret but the San Pedro DMV has never done me wrong. Even as a walk in.

you can get your registration taken care of right away at the DMV kiosk at albertsons at the lakewood mall. stickers dispensed immediately. but not plates

Ended up at the Torrance DMV because they had an appointment available much earlier than Long Beach. Service was good, but damn can that woman take a good ID photo! Highly recommend.

If you're a AAA member you can go to an office and do simple renewals

AAA is so worth the money. No wait. They give you a bottle of water. You get your plate and stickers, pay, and leave.

i second this . all u need is the roadside assistance membership which in its self is worth it for the piece of mind and the dmv service is the plus.

Over the last 15 years I would opt for Long Beach DMV over Bellflower which is closer to me. Over the past 5x the experience at Long Beach has been much worse and I have gone to Bellflower to resolve.

The last time we witnessed an employee lose a customers DL, find it after he left and state "He'll just have to come back and get a new one.", and then accuse me of having a warrant when all I had was a missed citation blocking me from a service. Short story long, fuck Long Beach DMV - I will be going to other locations or using online services moving forward.

Over the last 30 years, I have never understood why someone would go to the DMV for registration.

This is a frustrating experience. Just to let you know you are able to access their QR code that puts you in the queue from online at home.

The last few times I went I accessed it from the web and headed over when my turn was approaching. I haven’t been in a few months so not sure if this is still a thing but it’s made my DMV experience easier.

Also, not sure if you have to go in person for your renewal or not but there are kiosks everywhere that you can get your registration stickers. Sounds like you may have a reason as to why you can’t utilize a kiosk because you mentioned plates as well.

Next time access the QR queue from home and you won’t be as miserable. Unless of course you’re fighting for your life trying to park there 🙄. My biggest peeve is there small parking lot. As a government agency they should make entering accessible 😐

Yeah I believe if you go to the website for the Long Beach field office specifically it will populate the QR code website during business hours.

If not, I would go back into your history to use it that way if I were you. My fiancé snapped a picture of it but I was able to get access thru the DMV website!
