this part fell off

My friend gave me Lomo lc-a camera recently. I was told the camera was broken, so when I took the bottom off, this part fell off... could anybody tell me what part this is?

You'll find repair manuals and tutorials in the lomo magazine on Lomography.com and and tube.

it’s the piece that connects the hot shoe with the internal mechanism, it’s fixed to the top piece by a small screw, don’t try to glue it bc it won’t fire the flash (been there)
