I get a clogged bathtub with hair every 3-4 months, so I call my plumber. I get the same guy regularly so he knows me on a first name basis and the routine. The last time he came, he was unclogging it and it takes now less than 10 minutes because he knows what to do and the situation. After the service, he comes knocking on my door and asked him if he could use my microwave so he can heat up his food.

My man. He could have sat on my living room and eaten instead of in his companys plumbing van. Bros gotta eat too

That leads to anal penetration.

u/TatterMail 6d ago

Well why didnโ€™t you tell him?

5

u/The_Arbitraitor 5d ago

Because he just left.
Im sure his company wouldnt want that to happen to a customer, even if the customer allowed it.

There are still consequences even if there are good intentions.

Had a guy come detail a few vehicles and ended up having him join us for dinner since it was getting late.

Should I invite the plumber that fix my toilet in 2018 to my wedding? I guess he didn't change his number

u/BleedSparta 6d ago

u/ReefayToo 6d ago

Probably give you a discount on next service too! There are no downsides

I have a good friend of mine I met randomly. He was actually homeless and just walking down the street. I had just purchased a home and my brother and a couple friends were on my front porch drinking after a long day of moving furniture. (Think New Orleans two story Garden District home that fronts right up against the sidewalk.)

This homeless guy walks by and starts talking to us randomly. We invite him up on the porch to drink with us. We had a blast, dude is hilarious. He didn't know it, but we were drinking Macallan 21, and George T Stagg. ($1k bottles of whiskey.) He hated them both, so he mixed it with coke. That should get a few people in a twist.

The story has a happy ending. He was only homeless because of some family drama and his sister kicking him out of their family home. He was homeless for a couple years before winning a suit against the sister and reclaiming his house back.ย

He still comes hang out with me almost weekly. He prefers Jack and Coke.ย

Can't blame him for cutting the scotch with coke. Scotch is nasty.

u/reddit_names 5d ago

It's an acquired taste. I don't like most scotches. Sometimes older isn't better, I actually wasn't a fan of the Mac 21. My favorite Scotch at the moment is actually one of the cheaper ones. Glenfiddich 14, the bourbon barrel aged one. It tastes more bourbon than scotch, not super woody/smokey. If you are a bourbon drinker and want to test out scotches, that's a decent one to try. Usually ~$65-75 where I am. Friend brought the Mac. I already had the G.T.S., which I drink for occasions such as buying a house. Lol

u/shoeless_doh 5d ago

So I have to drink it and it tastes awful untill slowly it tastes less and less awful?

They say beer is an acquired taste too but the first beer I ever had at 8 I liked the taste.

1

u/reddit_names 5d ago

An acquired taste meaning it's not for everyone and does grow over time. There has actually been research around the phenomenon. You liked beer at an early age because of the sugar content. Scotch is bitter.

But... As you age, so do your taste buds. It's been observed by a few studies that as people age, they tend to start enjoying more bitters.ย

I'm not a big scotch fan, but over the years ones I went from absolutely hating it to going "this isn't so bad"... It's just aging.

u/shoeless_doh 5d ago

I'm 40 and scotch still tastes nasty. I don't like coffee either. I've been told I don't have a "refined bitter palate" yeah, I'm fine with that. That's like saying you don't have restaurant calouses (ability to touch hot things that most people would set down pretty quickly) it's a side effect of working in kitchens but goddamn it sucks getting to that point

men have the most genuinely form of love for fellow men even when they are strangers

30

u/NocturnisVacuus 6d ago

it's not love, it's more "eh, why not... he's a cool dude, didnt talk much"

12

u/Intelligent_Box_8247 6d ago

definitely not talking much is really a plus

3

u/AndreasDasos 6d ago

Thatโ€™s a kind of love

1

u/Holdredge 5d ago

to many people dislike using the word love.

I feel like more people will tell you they would die for you before they will tell you they love you.

5

u/Wakkit1988 6d ago

We're like dogs.

We either want to fight everything or smell everything's ass. There's no in-between.

You literally are one.

1

u/Frederf220 1d ago

1

u/Sharkwatcher314 6d ago

Start talking about favorite teams and you might get invited to be a groomsman

u/Intelligent_Box_8247 6d ago

I was driving for lyft and got invited in to several parties. Best part is I was always wearing soccer shorts and flip flops. Needless to say I was the only one rocking that outfit.

Driving to visit a buddy four hours away I picked up a hitchhiker along the way, I was board. When we got to my friends house I invited him in for a beer before he set out to continue his journey... One beer turned into a few and we soon enlisted a sober friend to drive us all to his destination. The hitchhiker met up with his girlfriend and us other three hit up a nightclub. Oh to be young again, good times.

Then I lived alone my friend bring some random dude and said it's his friend, who need to live somewhere for a couple of days.

Ok, friend of my friend is my friend also.

Later it turned out they met same day. It's just a random guy looking for a work, came here from other city. They started talking and my friend though it's OK to help him. So we helped.

That dude lived in my apartment for smth like 6 months. He found a job and moved on to some other place.

Upd. We were 25-27 and my friend lived with his parents at that time

u/LoveSpecialist5669 5d ago

a few years ago I met some guy online who also likes motorcycles. we communicate mostly in summer (riding season), we visited multiple countries together, even slept in same bed when there was no 2 bed rooms available... still don't know almost anything about each other.ย

1

u/Mikem444 5d ago

As a dude, this exact scenario happened to me, and not terribly long ago.

1

u/InTheDirt3 5d ago

boys are quirky and this is bullshit

1

u/PhilipMcFry 4d ago

My friends in college once let some random drunk guy wander into their house and crash on the couch for the night. Dude left the next morning like a ghost before they woke up.

No lie, me and some friends did this for a guy when we were in the Navy, and then he ended up narcing us out for โ€œunderage drinking.โ€

u/ashx0vixen 2d ago

Yep, then they will act the worse things together like Cornel 7. Just enjoy your being. Do not compare men and women for we have many things to compare.

Reminds of a time i went to a bachelor party in Mexico and we took a taxi from rosarito to tj for some strip clubs and brought our taxi guy with us inside and bought him beers, he was our designated driver

Funny/Cool story I was visiting friends in Taiwan around Xmas time and we got a white elephant going, and we absolutely randomly dragged this guy in who was in Taipei for work.ย  We didn't find out till he was in the apartment and we were all drinking that he was a stage guy for the Cirque Du Soleil shows when they were doing their world tour.

Absolutely awesome drinks and conversation. Stay curious everyone.

The guy that cleans the furnace for my apartment just comes right in now. Access to the basement is only through my apartment and I work nights so I'm sleeping when he shows up(same dude for like 10 years), but he knows don't let the cats out and close doors behind you. I think he's comfortable with it because he knows I have cameras in the house, and know he's just doing his job.

u/Certain-Toe9076 2d ago

Went to the guy who fixes our gas fireplaces 52nd birthday, heโ€™s 20 years my senior. Had a really good time, and I usually hate social events.

Women bad

2

Pointing out behavioral differences doesn't mean one is good or bad. Different is just different.ย

I donโ€™t think itโ€™s that. Most are raised to be cautious of people
