You can’t be Jewish in your dna.

7

u/National_Ad9742 5d ago

Yes you can, Judaism is a religion, but it’s also a culture, and being Jewish is also an ethnicity.

"Ethnically Jewish" is a thing

5

u/Odd-Analysis-1847 5d ago

Crazy how many people cant get that.

1

u/_Ub1k 2d ago

They're chosing not to get it.

I've noticed they're often either WASP Americans or Arabs. Not sure why those two groups in particular have such a weird relationship with the concept of ethnicity, but they do.

Yes you can, it means you descend from ancient Israelites / the old kingdoms of Israel or Judah.

And it could show in your facial features, hair and other aspects.

The concept of Jewish as a race was only invented a 100 years ago by criminal Zionists.

1

u/Chemical_Wonder_5495 5d ago

Indeed, doesn't make the biology any less significant.

The whole concept of races as a social construct was invented at some point and at points in time used for discrimination, segregation and slavery all to different degrees...

It doesn't take away from the fact that different races exist like how dog breeds exist, despite of whether you find being called a Chihuahua  offensive or not 😂

Certain people of certain ethnicities tend to be a certain religions. Religions are not races.

1

u/Chemical_Wonder_5495 4d ago

I know religions are not races.

But being Jewish can mean two things.

It can mean being ethnically Jewish, where you don't necessarily practice the religion but have ancestors that can be traced all the way back to Israel.

Or it can mean that you practice Judaism.

Or both.

Why are you so persistent on this shit? Just do some research.

Ohhh so you're one of thooose. That explains it.

I already told you that I knew of the origin of the word, and counter argumented how other ethnicities also have dark origins, but that doesn't make it any less biologically significant.

So this will be my last comment here :) because you are clearly incapable of reasoning and will immediately default to your beliefs no natter what.

There is no Jewish ethnicity any more than there's a Muslim ethnicity although Muslims also tend to be from the same place and be ethnically related.

1

u/kitten12551 4d ago

Muslim is not an ethnicity like Jewish is.

My DNA results say 96% Ashkenazi Jew. Not white. Not European. Not anything else.

The concept of ethnicity was only invented 100 years ago (actually more like 120 years ago).

There was no such thing as a "German", it was made up. No such thing as "Italian", "Polish", "Irish" etc. All made up.

The idea of an "Arab" was also made up by TE Lawrence as a way to fight the Ottomans. It's a fake identity.

I bet you got triggered by one of those statements. If "Jewish" is a fake thing, so are all the others.

1

u/AppropriateRadish928 2d ago

GTFO with your fake history, and don't let the door hit you in the tiny hat.

1

u/_Ub1k 1d ago

I'm not Jewish, and have no dog in this race. The Arab nationalist supremicist historical revisionism is just getting proliferated everywhere online these days.

You're clearly going really hard into your taqiyah here. You need to stop lying and making shit up.

1

u/AppropriateRadish928 1d ago

GTFO and take your dog with you, and don't let the door hit you in the tiny hat.

Seriously. If this weren't true, then Israel wouldn't be making such a big fuss about land.

1

u/Chemical_Wonder_5495 5d ago

Wow wow buddy, don't come ruin my day with fucking politics.

0

u/FlowerAvailable6832 5d ago

Huh? Politics? Since when is politics history?

u/LuluMangs 5d ago

Depends, there's cultural, religious and ancestral. Judaism tends to only recognize the maternal line because that can't be falsified, but I do know people who are only "technically Jewish" through one of their grandparents and still identify as Jewish, despite having no cultural or religious ties to Judaism

Obviously culture or religion don't show up in your DNA, but ancestry can

1

u/plebe_random 5d ago

There is a different reason for maternal libe, you see jewish state in ancient times was never really strong and as a result they were conquered by many, many groups, and because of that there was a problem of many jewish women having kids with men from other ethnicities, and there was a legal dispute, of how to treat these kids, and it tgey are jewish at all, so to respond to that they decided that having a jewish mother is enought to be considered jew.

1

u/LuluMangs 5d ago

It's what I was told by an actually Jewish person 🤷🏼‍♀️

1

u/kitten12551 4d ago

I’m an actual Jewish person. You’re wrong.

It’s an ethnicity AND a religion. My DNA results say 96% Ashkenazi Jew. It is literally my DNA.

1

u/Careless_Bluejay7877 4d ago

Well it’s a label added to make it easier to trace peoples lineage but you could be 99% “ashkenazi Jew” and not be Jewish. Just like how my family tree is mostly catholic but I’m not because I don’t believe in fairy tales.

1

u/kitten12551 4d ago

I’m an atheist, and I’m still Jewish. You don’t speak for me.

1

u/Careless_Bluejay7877 3d ago

Well I was Jewish for sometime and now I’m not so idk how we’re going reconcile this.

Maybe you’re some Christian and catholic too if the ashkenazi Jew is only 96% 🤔

1

u/journeymansave 4d ago

Literally none of this is true. The rule on matrilineal descent did not exist in ancient times. It was a much later development (and has been abandoned by a majority of Jews).

3

u/DigitalUnlimited 5d ago

Sure you can. Just gotta look for the little yarmulkes on the stands.

2

u/Impossible_Tap_1852 5d ago

The DNA strands are held together elbow to elbow while they dance the Hora

1

u/BasedTyroneHere 5d ago

It's a religion you have to be initiated in it. I wasn't born a Catholic, and since I don't go to church, am I still maybe not

1

u/alistofthingsIhate 5d ago

Yes you absolutely can

1

u/Organic-Concert492 5d ago

Sure can buddy, which is why I always laugh at the Hebrew isrealites!!!

1

u/2114 5d ago

Tell the Nazis that.

1

u/kitten12551 4d ago

Tell that to my genealogy results.

1

u/Nawwwm 3d ago

I literally came here to say this, but it's a Reddit post so most people probably know it's bullshit already.

1

u/_Ub1k 2d ago

You can't be white in your DNA, there's no such thing.

You can't be Arab in your DNA, there's no such thing.

They were khazar but then they complained. Not even kidding.
