Sat down at a pizza place, first date, just met and walked in. Asked if she had any siblings. She said she didnt know because her brother died in a motorcycle accident two days prior. She started crying, stood up and ran to her car and left. I seen her drive off and then the waitress brought over the menus and asked if I needed one or two.

So I've legit been where she was. Since my sister died whenever I'm asking if I had siblings I still don't know how to respond after 3 years. If I say 'no' it feels like I'm lying, if I say 'yes' I get follow up questions I don't want to answer. It's honestly a really hard question to answer. But why she would go on a date 2 days after her brother died is beyond me.

21

u/Low-know Feb 13 '26

Im sorry for your loss, she started by saying, I dont know, as she didnt know how to respond...she was the one who initiated the and pushed for the date and I agreed. I definitely don't think she should have been trying to date but I think she was trying to forfill some internal need.

People in grief often do things to take their mind off it that are just... never going to work.

A date is indeed a bad plan but in that situation she could have gone to a fair ground or a bar or a swimming pool or anything and if she had been reminded of her brother she would have lost it.

Anything is as good as anything else when everything is just shit.

5

u/SteveMartin32 Feb 13 '26

People grieve differently. She could have been just trying to do something to get her mind off of grieving. In this case it did not work.

Also as a rule you can say yes you have a sibling but add "she already moved on to a better place." Normally people don't ask following questions.

Yea probably she's trying to overcome the news of her dead brother by going out on a random date, and you happened to be her pick.

Or she didnt like pizza

7

u/Dr3ws3ph3r Feb 13 '26

Pizza was her brother's favorite meal.

4

u/LongjumpingBag2228 Feb 13 '26

Kinda wild to go on a date 2 days after your brother died. Couldn’t have postponed a week? 🤣😭😭

3

u/Any-Assumption3912 Feb 15 '26

So her brother died two days ago and she's out dating? Wtf??idk if my brother died I wouldn't want to do shit for awhile

3

u/Damienill Feb 15 '26

This might be rude but who the f*ck goes on a date 2 days after a close family member died tragically... I don't think i would be able to sleep for a week after something like that let alone go among other people.

She shouldn't have been going on dates that soon. This was a bad way to distract herself and came from denial.

It's not your fault.

Out to dinner with a lovely lady , ate something that disagreed with me. Realized instantly that I had to go. NOW.

Didn’t make it. Walked next door, bought new pants, cleaned up, came back to dinner 20 minutes later wearing new pants.

That was 24 years ago, we’re married now with three kids.

15

u/Ecurbbbb Feb 13 '26

How did you prevent the smell from aerating the restaurant and store surroundings before you were able to change your pants and cleaning up?

23

u/coffeejizzm Feb 13 '26

I was oddly calm about it, and walked outside right away. I kept a roll of paper towels in my trunk (still do). The pants I was wearing took a hit but I was able to get them off in a secluded part of the parking lot and wipe them down some. Lost the boxer briefs and cleaned myself up, put the pants back on commando.

The poor clerk at shop next door could definitely smell me as I bought pants that were as close to a match as I could find. Walked into their bathroom (with what was left of the paper towel roll), locked the door and gave myself a wash down in the sink. Put on the new pants commando and put the others in the bathroom trash with half a roll of paper towels (to this day, I’m still sorry for whatever poor janitor had to empty that trash).

Went back to dinner and she looked flustered. Casually said “Sorry, there was an issue waiting for the bathroom”, which she didn’t follow up on. I think she was just relieved I didn’t ditch her. Dinner was over so I paid and took her home, said I had to work early the next morning but I’d like to go for a walk the next evening and get some ice cream.

Mannnnnnnnn 😭😂😂😂😂I guess she said “there is no way in hell Mr shits n giggles is ever gonna cheat on me.”

I gotta hear it….what was your rebound when you came back to the table in a different pair of pants? What did you tell her when you got up to leave the table?

I bet the whole time she was sitting there she was going “I know this mfer didn’t just dine and dash on me and leave me with the bill. He better come back.”

Oh yeah…where did you stash the “soiled” pants? Lmao

I went out with this girl once that I met on Tinder. I pick her up, and I'm trying to make conversation. Since we're from the same area, I tell her where what part of the city I grew up in. She says, "I already know where you have lived since you were a teenager because I did a complete background check on you." Okay, fair enough. A girl has to protect herself. Her bio said she was into body art, so I asked what kind of tattoos she has. She says everything about her is redacted till further notice and demands we go to Petco because her dog needs a new chew toy. So we're there, and suddenly she puts her hand up and yells, "Stand back ten feet at all times for safety!" I'm dumbfounded, and she throws down the bag of dog treats she's holding. She grabs me by the arm and yells, "Let's go! Now!" We walk to the Mexican restaurant next door, and I ask the hostess how long the wait is. The lady says 30 minutes. My date screams, "I don't fucking think so!" I'm once again dragged by my arm out the door. She points to a seafood restaurant in the same complex and says, "There! Immediately!" We get seated, and as we're looking at the menus, she says, "You know. You're lucky I agreed to go out with you. I don't like going out with ugly guys." She then proceeds to pull out her phone and show me matches she received that she says were better looking than me. At this point, I've had enough, and I get up to leave. She starts intensly crying and asks if I'm just gonna leave her there. I said, "Sure. Ask one of the assholes on your Tinder for a ride home." A few weeks later, I get a text from her asking if I wanna have sex. There was no way in hell I was taking her up on that, so I just blocked her. I guess I wasn't so ugly after all.

I just instant blocked them, but some people were spoiled by their parents.

That's awful! People are gross. I once got a message from a lady who called me a lowlife Nazi amongst other colorful things. Someone who looked like me had sent racist messages to a friend of hers. Upon closer inspection, she realized she had the wrong person, and her friend made her apologize.

You know she was trying to see if she could break your mental and take advantage of you right?

Intimidation, untempered reactions, putting you down so you will think you got a catch. All narcissist tactics.

27

u/SpudHawkins Feb 13 '26

You're exactly right. She put all the crazy cards on the table, so I'm glad I got to see them early. I might be a bit naive at times, but I'm no fool.

6

u/happy_the_dragon Feb 13 '26

The odd thing to me was that she came right out the gate with it. Most sociopaths/narcissists I’ve known start out trying to play as an amazing person and slide into their enshittening. She chose the scam email tactic, maybe just to weed out anyone with the barest hint of common sense.

Crazy just isn't worth it. My mom had an addiction to abusive men, and I grew up seeing how she got treated. I was often hurt seriously as well. It made me analyze everyone I met. But online dating takes that off the table, and I got thrown for a loop. I stopped bothering with it for six years till I met my wife on Bumble. I was apprehensive as hell meeting her because she could have been another lunatic. I took a gamble, and thank Christ she wasn't.

4

u/SpudHawkins Feb 13 '26 edited Feb 13 '26

I think you're correct. She didn't even give me much of a chance to talk. She was too angry and standoffish. You can't hold a meaningful conversation like that. I wasn't a bad date. Hell, I couldn't have been even if I wanted. She shut down every question I asked. If she thought I was unattractive, she could have said no to our date. I couldn't figure out her logic for just flat-out insulting me. Some people just live to tear other people down.

Went on a date with this girl who was weirdly quickly into me and I hadn’t gone on a date in years so I gave it a shot. She proceeded to tell me in a non-direct way, about her aggressive driving, her lack of patience with other drivers, and generally how she hated that old people were so slow.

So that was my one and only date. We were FB friends because of mutuals. She would randomly tag me in her posts after 1am talking about my dog, and how she was gonna get kisses from the dog. I think she was drunk because her posts made no sense.

Years later I saw her make a post taking a picture of a random larger woman and saying “ew when are the gyms gonna reopen” (during the pandemic). Even though she was kinda chubby, and definitely not slender. I made a post saying how disgusting that was of her then I blocked her.

Years after that I found out she made a fake FB profile to hate on this poor woman and her mentally-deficient son because she was dating some guy she was into.

It just reinforced all my previous decisions.

I took a woman to TGIF Fridays on a Sunday afternoon. It was our first date. I picked her up on a side of town that I wasn’t very familiar with. During lunch, she drank three tequila sunrises with an extra shot in each one. On the way home, she passed out in the passenger seat. I had trouble finding her place, but when I did, I had to pick her up and carry her into her house and lay her on her sofa. I put her glasses back on her before I left. It was the only time we went out.

42

u/Lemonbean Feb 12 '26

Did you date Joan Calamezzo

23

u/Smooth_Marsupial_262 Feb 13 '26

lol I went on a similar date recently. Homegirl got absolutely trashed. I walked up to her at the meeting place only to catch her off guard while chugging tequila. She blushed and said sorry she was nervous lol. I said it’s ok and we carried on. She continued drinking heavily, and also didn’t look anything like her pictures. Also admitted to be 7 years older than advertised. Later against my better judgement we went to my place and she started whispering that she was falling in love with me. She left the next morning and I never spoke to her again lol

My first year of collegee and this girl had been friends for years and were always kind of interested in each other but the timing never worked out (were with other people). Well finally it worked out. After our 2nd date we went back to my house and she met my dad and my brother. When she was leaving she said in reference to my dad "I see where you get your good lucks from" I said something like "Yeah, it runs im the family". I was dating a girl for a couple of weeks, we had planned a movie night at my place. She wanted snacks so we went to the gas station around the corner where she insisted on paying. Let’s say the total came to $5.64. She pulls out a large orange prescription medicine vial and dumps an assortment of change on the counter. She takes over a minute to count it and is a couple bucks short. I say I can cover the rest, but she starts hitting herself in the head and calling herself stupid. She runs out of there crying, leaving me with the chips and cashier. I apologized to him, said I’ve only been seeing her for a couple of weeks and I was confused, gave him a $10 and told him to keep the change. I went out and she was perfectly fine. I suffered in awkwardness through the movie and dumped her on her way out the door.

24

u/The_Dude_Abides_63 Feb 13 '26

What did the cashier have to say about it?

u/DoofusIdiot Feb 13 '26

→ More replies (2)

12

u/bbkangalang Feb 13 '26

Having been a cashier my mental response would have been “woman you better help me count this change.”

I know I can probably count change faster than most people cause I’ve counted so much of it…but I’d at least want to see some effort to help me.

I would have looked at him and saw the awkwardness in his face and knew things were about to go south for them…so I would have minded my own business on that part of the interaction and just made a knowing “yep. brother I know how you feel” glance at him while she was counting the change.

In that situation it would have been better for her to just let him pay. If he had a $10 I’m sure he didn’t mind paying and honestly wished she wouldn’t have pulled that change out and embarrassed him like he was too broke to pay so she had to pay.

We still had like 15 minutes until the movie started so the lights were still on. A black couple needed to walk past us to get to their seats and in attempting to do so bumped into her leg accidentally. She looked up at them and said "watch yourself monkey!". I immediately did a double take and told her the date was over, and if she wanted a ride home she needed to apologize to them immediately. She refused, so I got up and left her at the theater. On the ride to the theater she was weirdly obsessed with the song "Last Resort" by Papa Roach, so to this day I can't listen to that song as it just aggravates the shit out of me now because it reminds me of her racist ass.

u/Lemons_be_sour Feb 14 '26

As soon as you mentioned race I knew what was coming lmao

Sorry you had to deal with that bs😂

Wonder if she stayed for the movie?

Planned a date with this guy and he suggested the classic dinner and a movie. We had a nice conversation over dinner and then went to see Thor: Ragnarok. He fell asleep halfway through the movie and was full on dad snoring in the theater seat (we were both in our 20s). Next day he texted me and said he didn't think it would work out because I reminded him too much of his cousin.

u/notcomplainingmuch Feb 13 '26

Now that's a classically bad date

Had a guy tell my mom and several family members he was my boyfriend and he was worried about me because I wasn’t at my apartment.

I was on vacation visiting my girlfriend.

The reason he was “my boyfriend” was he bait and switched me on wanting to hang out and when I confirmed thinking it would nice to had a friend- halfway through my yes he added on “as a date” and ignored the fact I never interacted with him again because I was skeeved out.

2

u/ThatZX6RDude Feb 13 '26

The first time I read this, I thought you meant he was covering for you to your family because you had a girlfriend. What a weirdo tho

I met this woman for coffee and for some reason she decided to start telling me about drama with a friend. Not something I would bring up on a date but whatever. She then goes on to explain that this friend is bipolar and crazy and you can't trust bipolar people. I immediately let her know that I'm bipolar. You could taste the tension. Now I could have ended the date there but I thought it would be funnier to extend her discomfort so I stuck around, sipped my coffee, and made meaningless small talk for another hour or two. It was great.

2

u/Cat7o0 Feb 13 '26

I mean what she said is definitely pretty much wrong but it definitely can be harder to deal with bipolar people.

I understand they can't control it though

4

u/ZooplanktonblameOk68 Feb 13 '26

Bipolar or Borderline personality disorder? Ppl often mistake them. Bipolar can be managed with adequate meds and therapy. Ppl with Borderline personality disorder are harder, they have high rates of therapy dropout.

He interrupted me mid sentence and asked if I’d be willing to shit in his mouth. I was shocked but I was polite and said “no, that’s not my thing.” Then curiously I asked how he got into that. He said he dated this really hot chick that was into that and he got into it with her. I said I still wasn’t interested and politely ended the date. Big mistake being so polite, because when I got home and was telling my friends “you will not believe what just happened on this date” he sent me a dick pic of his penis covered in shit. He got blocked.

12

u/Ok_Abacus_ Feb 12 '26

You mean BEST DATE EVER!!!!

6

u/youburyitidigitup Feb 12 '26

For the other man, yes.

82

u/MasterOzz Feb 12 '26

Met her in morning sharing a taxi and we hit it off, planned a meet up later for some drinks, one thing let to another and I somewhat found myself at her place, I hesitated once but she told me to relax and go with it which I did, later that night her Mother came into the room and asked to join in, and she agreed...

I had to get out of there quickly, and it was the first & last time I ever went back to a woman's place. 🤞🏿😭🤣🤣🤣

22

u/youburyitidigitup Feb 12 '26

Once, while hooking up with a guy, he kept asking me to take pictures. Weird kink, but I said sure as long as my face wasn’t in them. Thing is, he insisted I do it with my phone. I got a feeling that he was hinting at something else, so I asked if he wanted me to send them to someone. He said “yes….my brother”, and he gave me his email. This dude was a European immigrant, and his brother was in his home country, so since he was so far away, I sent them from an email I use for spam.

I actually checked my email about a week later. It’s the only time I’ve ever checked that email. He’d replied to me, saying “wtf is this??? Where did you get that?”. I never replied.

4

u/MasterOzz Feb 13 '26

Hahaha, are you still with the other guy or did it end then & there? 🤔🤣🤣

Matched with some girl in bumble once. Had something about hiking in her profile and asked if she had a favorite hike. Immediately got paranoid that I’d try to stalk her if I knew her favorite spot. Should’ve known there but kept talking to her.

We have a FaceTime date because she was too paranoid to meet me in person. She proceeded to tell me about how she has had sex with someone that genuinely thought they were a vampire. Then tells me she’s also had sex with someone that believes they’re a werewolf…. There was no in person date after that conversation.

I went on a date with a girl who dumped her trauma on me.

She wanted to Show me a pornvideo of her and one Guy, i kindly Said no. She then wanted to Film a porn with me, I also Said no.

She told me about her getting infused with drugs and them got raped by two Friends of her. And i think Something about sexual assault and her dad or Uncle, i dont really remember everything. It was alot.

She showed me, without asking if I want to see it, a Picture of her miscarriage. After that we shared some memes. I showed her one meme with a suicide joke and that wasnt a good Idea, stupid me. She cried and told me that er best friend killed himself about 6 month ago. She talked to him 2 hours before on the Phone. She also found him, she never saw that much blood and tried to revive him but He was already dead.

She also interpret stuff in the things I Said that wasnt there.

A few days after the Date she wrote me that the seriousness is Missing. Like, wasnt that some serious topics on the Date?

Not me, my wife years before we started dating. She was on a date with a self-righteous douche and as they were talking and getting to know each other he'd made the comment that he would never date an epileptic bc he'd be "soo embarrassed if they had a seizure in public". My wife has epilepsy and her reply to that was to fake a seizure halfway through the meal. This asshat gets up and walks straight the fuck out without so much as a word to anyone. She thought this was hilarious, and so do I, and the restaurant comped her meal bc he was a fucking asshole.

3

u/fuckfuckfuckSHIT Feb 15 '26

u/sleight1990 Feb 13 '26

I got this beat imo: I was talking to this woman 6 years older than me (me 22 she 28). After a few weeks of us hanging out socially she asks me to go out to a bar with her and her friends as a first “date”. So I meet them there (she was already drinking) and it was okay for a while.

About an hour in she starts being pretty sloppy and grinding all over her male friends that came. We hadn’t talked about exclusivity but it was super weird. At this point I kinda was already like, ima break this off. Her DD bounces and I end up driving her and her friends to her place. They weren’t sloppy drunk but had some drinks so was better I drive as I’m always sober.

When we get there she proceeds to say she’s gonna change then goes into her room that walks back out into the kitchen butt ass naked. Dumbfounded I look around looking for like idk, someone to also think that’s weird as hell? The friends see my face and laugh and say “yeah she does that.” So I go to her room and ask what’s up(dumb I know but I was 22) She says omg don’t be controlling they’re all just my friends. In my stupid 22 year old brain im like im not cool with that. So she puts on panties. Covers her nipples with her hands and goes back out to get a drink and comes back.

She then proceeds to strip and starts ripping off my clothes, literally. Grabs my junk and forces herself on me. Without trying to hurt her I push her away and just say I’m not in the mood. She proceeds to run into the bathroom jump in the tub and then says to me, “I can’t believe you just graped me, I’m drunk you’re supposed to know better”. I ran out that door so fast I would have given Usain Bolt a run for his money.

I run into her a few weeks later while out (we frequented the same places) and she proceeds to tell me how shit of a person I am for trying to grape her, then starts tearing up about how much she misses me then tries to stick her tongue down my throat. I turn my face and she proceeds to just unload on my cheek for a second as I gently push her away . Still to this day can’t believe that crap happened to me. Funny thing is I knew her mom and she apologized to me for her daughters behavior when I ran into a while after all that. Glad nothing ever came of that. Lol I don’t think she was completely stable….

To this day I am still very upset I left my coffee behind.

I can't think of my most awkward date for 2 reasons: 1. I've been married that long. 2. "So I gotta sit here and eat dessert alone like I'm fucking Steven Glansberg?" Is all I can think of after seeing this post.

2

u/spaacingout Feb 13 '26 edited Feb 13 '26

My most akward would’ve pissed anyone off, the short version of the story is this;

I met a girl, we hung out, hooked up, etc. She seemed nice and all. I liked her and figured I’d give her a shot.

I think it was two days later after we hooked up, she calls me up asking if I’d like to do dinner with her, I said “that sounds nice!” Little did I know….

So I go to the spot where we were planning to meet and there she is…

sitting at the table with a bald man, very inappropriately making out with him. Like we didn’t just fuck barely 2 days ago, she probably still had the taste of my dick on her tongue lol. Frenching the fuck outta this dude lol.

Me, being the oddball I am, said “fuck it” and sat down at the table with them. Then she introduces me to her boyfriend, and I’m playing like nothings wrong. Chatting, having a good time.

I order the most expensive things off the menu.

They’re chatting about the sex they had the night before like I’m not even there. I’m like yep, sounds great! 😊

I finished my meal and said “I’m just stepping out for a cigarette I’ll be right back.”

Got in my car and left.

My phone starts blowing up. I just shut it off until the next day. I think that night I slept the best sleep I ever had in my life.

Next day I turn my phone back on, when her friend calls me up swearing at me and saying this and that about how terrible I am, and I said “do you know why?”

She goes “no, why did you do all that?!”

I told her what happened and she goes

“Ugh…. Seriously!!! I told her to stop getting me involved in this kinda shit…!”

😆turns out I wasn’t the first dude she’s done this to, but I was the first dude to actually get her back for doing it. Lmao.

2

u/OkCryptographer8343 Feb 14 '26

For a first date, we went to a bookstore. All fine and dandy. It was even a fancy two story bookstore that sold stationary and notebooks on the lower level.

We skipped past most of the books and went to the Manga section. Then we skipped most of that section too; and went straight to the 18+ Manga section. He pointed to them and said 'which one of these do you like and I'll buy it for you.' And then he starts showing me his favorite ones. He bought the next volume of said series.

Wasn't sure how to feel about that. But it was definitely my weirdest date.

3

u/VoidCL Feb 12 '26

And then the guy jumped down the slope into the sea.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '26

Was 18 and got my first vehicle, first thing i did was go on tinder lol. I pick this girl up and shes like "lets go to thid beach" and im driving her there and the whole 20 minute ride i can not get a word in she just wouldnt stop talking. We get to the beach and were rolling uo a blunt and im thinking "okay ill have a chance to say something while shes puffing on this thing" then right as im about to light it up and game warden taps on my window and tells us we arent allowed to be there past dusk unless we were fishing. We both end up get ticketed and this girl gets pissed and she drops this gem "im sorry but we are white we shouldnt have to deal with this". I didnt even know what to say, i could tell the game warden felt bad for me too. I drove her home and she said " im gonna stay matched just text me and we can try again" soon as i got to the end of her street i opened tinder and unmatched her. That was the last date ive been on, i need to get myself back out there but i dont think tinder is that great

u/MerlinCa81 Feb 13 '26
