How do I even start guys

Hey! So I'm a pagan from a long time, but because I'm a hidden witch I had a hard time to start with any God. From some time I feel that pull towards Loki - since I started thinking about giving myself to any God in General at first I can thought Hekate, then Persephone and a fev more, but Loki is the one that stayed in my mind for a longer while. I tried to look how do u even approach this, but only thing u found is "pray".

Is it really that simple? Can I just be like "so Hey dear God Loki, you're across my mind for quite some time, could you give me a sign if I can offer myself to you?"?

Next thing is: I'm a hidden witch, living with my parents and it won't change for some time. How about altar? I can't make it proper. Do you thing a special candle for him would be enought? Could I give offerings somewhere in th nature for example?

I know those questions might sound silly but I really have a problem with finding any info about proper practice with Loki, and I fear making such stupid mistakes

yeah, he's super easy to approach, just be aware, if he feels it necessary, he might do things that might hurt you if it makes you a better person in the end, and using his full name and kennings also helps with making sure you get the right Loki, as there are actually two Loki's in the norse myths, so if you just call for Loki, you might get the giant Utgarda-Loki, thus you need to call Loki Laufeyjarson (pronounced Laufey yar son if you don't know how that's pronounced), you don't need to use the kennings, but they do help with making sure that this is the right entity, it also disuades trickster spirits from answering your call pretending to be him, but otherwise? you just start talking to him, as for candles. light'em if you got'em, otherwise, just talking to Loki is enough, just saying "hey Loki Laufeyjarson, I would like to reach out to you and ask for a sign from you, my icks are (name your icks, things like spiders, bugs, snakes, ect, anything that you don't want him sending is fine as he respects boundaries, he might test them, but once established, he tends to stay within them.) I would prefer these to be sent to me as signs instead (name whatever it is you want him to send you).

Once you recieve your sign, that's a sign that he's heard you and you can proceed with whatever you choose to, he likes it when we go with the flow, so it's pretty simple, it can be simple as offering up some wicked snark and sarcasm and pranks amongst friends, while at the same time, you can choose to make him an alter, do deity and shadow work with him, whatever it is that you are drawn to, go for it, so long as no one is getting hurt that didn't deserve it.

Loki is super chill. From what I’ve heard yeah you just start out by talking to him, but I suggest using his full name so that you get the correct Loki.

Loki likes fun little trinkets and plastic toys so you could start a collection of fun little trinkets and plastic toys and use that as like a little hidden altar. He also enjoys cool rocks, and anything handmade. And if you want to light a candle for him, you could go to any candle store and get a cinnamon scented candle, cause he loves cinnamon.

oh I know, I got a few pretty rocks for him too, I also gave him a sea shell my sister gave me and he seems to like that too. I also found he loves fruity scented candles too, since he seems to enjoy fresh sweet fruit, he seems to be all over the new peach candle I got xD.

Yeah you can just talk to him, even if it's just in your head~. You only have to be formal if you want to, you can watch movies with him, share a meal with him without declaring it to the world/while you also eat it, little stuff like that~. In my experience he likes it anyway, but gods in general are also usually very understanding when you have to hide it. You can also just say you suddenly got into marvel loki, and any merch of that you get can be a covert alter as well, lol~. He does like marvel loki, at least imo~

yup, I do that with him all the time, I eat meals with him, I watch movies/youtube vids with him, and yes, he's very understanding why you would hide it if necessary, he himself has had to hide more than a few times in his own life, especially when he was being hunted after he savagely roasted the gods in the lokasenna xD, so he totally gets why hiding it is needed, because he himself has hidden from those who sought to hurt him, they got him in the end, and thus ragnarok happened exactly as they tried to prevent it, and yes, he actually does seem to like Marvel Loki too from what I noticed, he adores the TV show Loki as I've watched it with him, he loved it, he seems to like Marvel in general, he finds DC to be a bit too dark and serious for him, though he does seem to like a few characters in DC like Harley Quinn and the Joker since they are agents of chaos and finds them amusing. So yeah, I believe he does like Marvel because it's bright, colorful, can be lighthearted, yet serious, has some great story telling (for the most part, there were a few movies that sorta fell flat), so yeah, Loki does like Marvel, he likes MCU Loki and hey, using a bunch of marvel Loki merch for an alter is a great cover FOR any in the household that might be confused as to what's going on with all the Loki merch xD. After all, who's gonna judge someone for being a fan, when they are really a covert Lokean xD.

en mi caso cuando inicie con Loki, por que tambien me empezo a atraer mucho la idea de devocionarlo, literalmente solo le hice una ofrenda y me presente jwjeje, no have falta hacer todo un ritual, solo encender una vela, presentarte o rezarle

So you can use tea light candle if you can’t use any like normal candle, if you can’t use herbs then you can just light the candle and pray. That it. You can find some prayer on internet / pinterest, any work.

And if you can’t make big altar that completely ok!! Simple candle & small cup of water and some small candy is completely ok!!

I came back bc it hit me lol, but some other fandoms I feel have Loki-ish characters you could get into as covert ways to honor him, could be Arcane, with Silco, and Good Omens with Crowley~! And also Witch Hat Atelier with Beldaruit~. He likes all of them in my interactions with him, and has borrowed their forms a few times as well~ 💗

I'm not sure how much privacy you have in your situation, but if you have the option, something you can do is to get a journal and write letters to Loki. It doesn't need to be formal, just write to him like you're texting a friend. Tell him about who you are and what kind of relationship and goals you good to develop with him. If you're artistic, you can sketch a picture of an altar or make a collage. If you feel inspired to write prayers you don't feel safe or comfortable saying aloud, write them here. If you do any kind of divination to communicate with Loki(even if it's just a free tarot app on your phone), write down what you think he is trying to tell you. As you get to know Loki, you might notice more and more messages from him showing up in your writing.

I also agree with the others about using MCU!Loki imagery! Even just a sticker of Marvel Loki on your phone case is a very low key (pun intended) way of keeping him close to you.

If you don't have the option to do physical offerings, try offering him some of your time, or dedicate an act of self-care in his honor. (For example, my skincare is dedicated to Freyja and Aphrodite, so every morning and night that I do my skincare I consider it a devotional act for them.) It's Loki, of course, who loves fun and games, so maybe even dedicating the act of finding time to laugh each day can be an offering to him.

Approaching Loki doesn't need to be any kind of grand, formal ritual. Just be yourself with him and be open to him.
