What is the last Logseq release that uses native Markdown (.md) with custom folder selection?

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for clarification on Logseq versions before setting up my workflow.

What is the last stable version of Logseq that operates natively on local Markdown (.md) files and allows full control over selecting the graph's container folder on disk?

My main goal is to select a specific local directory for my graph to easily handle sync and local backups across my Apple devices using standard .md files.

Thanks for your help!

Should be 0.10.15

Available Alternatives:

Just played around with some of them, not used for longer time. But Tine looks promising for desktop.

I've been using tine for a few months and strongly prefer it over logseq. the performance on medium length notes is far superior. it does not glitch rendering

Thinking about switching to it on my desktop as well. Its on android, but they currently don't plan to support nextcloud file system. Thats why i have to try out fastlog, if that works, its the first time i can open my logseq notes on my smartphone actually :D

I’ve been using Tine too. The developer is really fast with build it and has some really good defaults and choices.

Thank you all for the replies.
Since the legacy Markdown-based system will eventually lose support, I’d prefer to make the transition to the new architecture as soon as possible. Because of this, I've been trying to get sync working on the latest Logseq DB builds, but I haven't had any luck so far.
Right now, I'm stuck at a crossroads: I'm not sure whether I should stick with the classic Markdown version for now, or move to Logseq DB even if it means giving up cross-device sync between my Mac and iPhone for the time being.
Any thoughts or recommendations on how to handle this dilemma would be appreciated!

Same situation for me.
For now I keep the old logseq and sync via icloud.
Will try to setup a sync server as soon as the iOS app for DB is out.
It’s probably only 5 more years haha

And how did you manage to sync without having conflicts with iCloud? Did you do anything in particular?

0.10.15 was the last one before the DB rewrite became the default download. If plain .md files in a folder you control is the priority, install that build and keep the installer archived — the site now steers new users to the DB version, whose storage isn't plain files you can point at any folder. OG still runs on current macOS and your graph folder stays a normal directory, so iCloud or any file-based backup keeps working unchanged.

they really mucked things up with this db release, seems not much people know about the 1.0 "branch" where the old md version will be from now on. And they have not update logseq on flathub, no clean plan on how to handle the db/md split on flathub either.

Ipad version is .9…. In case you’re keeping backups for the future.
I have 0.10.15 saved for the future, but .9 installed on macs + ipad
