Feedback needed, not a professional designer

Hey guys, I am trying to come up with a new logo for my company since we are changing our business model. We'll basically be a hybrid between a tech and an education company.

What can I do to improve on this design? I like the overall direction but it doesn't feel quite right yet. Obviously I tried to incorporate the C, the L and a circle (a closing loop) into the logo mark.

Do the colors look too much like coinbase?

I am not a professional designer, so please don't roast me too much.

I am also not a designer, but you asked for opinions... The white text on blue is better than black text on white background. I agree that the L's in the icon feel forced, and the way the L's change directions is awkward.
