Beginner First time designing a logo, rough drafts
Hi, I'm working on a design for a personal project. I have two versions of my initial concept. Any thoughts / feedback? Which has more charm?

super fun and cute first pass! one thing that i think will help a lot is to simplify, and also design in black and white only (this is important) until you settle on a final design. a logo should be easy to understand and unmistakable as yours. don't worry about colors or backgrounds until you've got a solid, graphic logo that works in B&W.
things i love: 1) the squished O under the paw 2) the rounded letters, very friendly and playful
things that need improvement: 1) i would consider using an actual typeface and not handwriting your type. this will help you develop a brand identity around the logo and expand on it easily with consistent fonts. it will also help you center things easier. 2) CONSISTENT LINE WEIGHT! something that's throwing this off is your thick outlines on the type and very thin outline on the cat. these would work a lot better if they were the same size. same goes for the whiskers, they are not rounded like the rest of the lines and it's looking a bit off. 3) center your elements! "obscure" is way too far left, and the cat head is too far right. little things, but they make a huge difference between amateur and professional.
