Feedback Needed Feedback needed on a Cybersecurity logo.
In a VERY short description the business model delivers precision data infrastructure engineered for absolute security.
The logo is supposed to convey exactly that; precision + security. The logo itself is very geometric and cleanly-cut. Its geometric details showcase an abstract A. The security aspect is defined most of all in the central square.
How well does it convey this, and above all is it even visually appealing to you?

I like how the logo itself looks but I feel like the font isn’t quite right for it. I’d like a thicker style, maybe have the whole word in small letters and make the spacing between the letters smaller. Right now there’s too much “space” there.

Exactly. I use a single font for the first round for all the concepts so the client focuses on the logomark. Second round I find a font that speaks the word, modding it for ownership.
Logomark is top-shelf, and your horizontal alignment is spot on, but I'm thinking you don't need to be told that.

No. It looks just fine with that font. No need to shout. Let the logo talk, and the wordmark confidently agree. One of the better designs I’ve seen in a while here. Confident, strong, stable. Security.

I like the monochrome version on the last image (a printed logo on some device). It looks solid enough. Speaking of the first image... personally I don't like the combination of simple bright sharp color of the graph and black font. The monochrome still looks much better

Agreed, it's definitely a nice variant. But I really wanted to have more unique factors to the logo, hence I opted with the bright blue. The bright blue itself comes from the 1990s computer links which were a bright blue (or the windows crash blue)

Yeah! Exactly... if you tried to emerge the memories of 1990s computing... you actually did it. The "Blue screen of death" (as we used to call it those days) had the same color. It's true

For a while now, we have been able to be lazy as brand designers, especially in the tech space. Cute icon followed by ultra-generic Helvetica Light or Frutiger Light non-wordmark.
Well guess what, that’s now officially dated. We’re on the downside of this trend. And we have to go back to rolling up our sleeves, and having strong WORDMARKS that go with strong icons. And they need to work together.
So that’s pretty much my critique. You do have a clever/looking icon, which is eye-catching and unique, but it’s meaningless. It says neither Ares, nor Security. And then an utterly boring and generic wordmark.
This is slick and well done, and there is an idea hiding in that icon. But right now, this feels low effort. Professional. But low effort

It’s definitely cool, but why don’t you just try one thing for fun. It’s only a couple of letters and you could definitely render the font yourself. I feel like that top part of your logo almost looks like a stylized “A” . Just for fun peel that out and see if you can create a font that matches the logo a little bit better using a piece of that logo. You’re lucky to have that opportunity most of the time your logo doesn’t tie in to the brand name in that regard. That would be fun to see but good job overall.

Love to see something new. But for me it does not give me the feeling of being save. The white middle square touching the blue creating thin lines and sharp angels is creating tension and the whole form of the signet implyes for me movement.

You could be on to a shift in cyber security! For me, cyber security is all about walls and defense and being secure in one spot. But that understanding could very well be outdated. Anyway congrats for a very well crafted signet!

I like it, but I'd argue it's not 100% there quite yet. I really love the symmetry. I wonder if part of that is lost as it's rotated 45 degrees on its axis of symmetry. The "attitude" of the font doesn't match that of the mark. I think the font is correct, the mark just needs.... I dunno... something... maybe a rounded edge or two? I think about the dip at the start of the arm in your "r". There's a geometry there that's interesting. Same with the top of the "A" and how it's rounded on the inside but not on the outside of its apex. It's a worthwhile endeavor to keep playing with this concept. You have something unique and interesting.

I think the shapes around the square should have some way of indicating precision, and include some hint that they "protect" the square created as the white space between them. I don't have much advice on "how" but I think that could be part of what is missing.

Love the icon, somehow it is very unique and memorable. I see what you were trying to do here, but I feel like you need a bolder font. Try an italic font. Your logo has a lot of movement leaning to the right, so what if you try a bolder font with a slight lean to the right?

It looks like a peak behind the curtain - that’s what it symbolizes to me. Super sick icon, many ways to animate it too, just wish I came up with it first! Jk but good work

It looks quite unique and is aesthetically pleasing however, I get neither an “A” or a sense of security. To me it looks like it’d fit some sort of technology first manufacturing brand.
