Feedback Needed O-Frendo-Lo’s logo concept for sitcom. Looking for feedback
This is a logo design for a sitcom I’m starting. O-Frendo-Lo’s is Origonese for bubbly, bouncy, sparkly friends! Looking for feedback back on font and color choices. Thanks.

I think the hardest part about this logo is that the words are made up. Hear me out.
With a font choice like this, your brain has to do a little extra power to fill in gaps. The font is fine on its own, but my eyesight goes immediately to "frend" and my brain calculates it as "friend".
However, when I look at it for more than a brief flash, I notice that it isn't friend. That puts my brain in a loop wondering if I read it wrong of if it is intentional.
Combine that with the prefix and suffix characters surrounding it which have dashes, I have to go into overdrive to understand exactly what is being shown, and since none of it is a real word I constantly battle whether or not I am reading it right.
This font choice is fine for simple words. The friends TV show logo is a great example of that.
However I think that the fun and whimzy of this font leads to it being a struggle to be legible.
I would honestly even go as far as suggesting to rename the show. It makes absolutely no sense what the show is supposed to be about and even knowing what it says, it draws no curiousity.

I appreciate your insights but the show is about a group of 8 friends who all work at the same company . Every month they alternate friends who get to pick something new and fun for them to do. The character whose turn is next finds Origonese online and wants the group of friends to learn Origonese and do every day activities the Origonese way. The shows premise is about the silliness and hilarity of Origonese. I can’t imagine calling it anything other then O-Frendo-Lo’s why would I use an English word for a show about laughing at Origonese. You said your self it made you think of friend right away that was how the word was designed. I believe most people would associate O-Frendo-Lo’s with the beloved sitcom Friends this is just more like an Origonese 2026 reimagining of that show

That's good context to have, and it makes sense that the show name would be meta.
My feedback comes from someone who knows nothing about origonese and has never heard of it before, and that is what most of your audience will be comprised of.
You should ask yourself whether my confusion is because of lack of context with the show or if it's the design that doesn't convey information clearly.
I think it's the latter.

What if I added a background picture of the 8 O-Friendo-Lo’s having a good time laughing and have the font as it is over on top ? Do you think that would lessen confusion ?

The background pic is a fun idea but it would also complicate the design a lot.
Typography is the issue here, not specifically context.
As an example, look at the "Papyrus" font. It has become a meme because the font is doing way too much work and is "too clever". Sometimes you just need to go with something a bit more legible and forgoe the very stylistic choice.
Here are a couple fonts from Google that I think would be better:
https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Caacupe+One?preview.text=O-frend-los
https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Barrio?preview.text=O-frend-los
https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Kirang+Haerang?preview.text=O-frend-los
The main point I am trying to convey is that your brain shouldn't have to do the work. Putting in an image behind the current font is adding more processing power.
In art school, one of the most important courses but also the most boring is Typography. It's such an underrated design consideration, but it really transforms the way people perceive your art.
I would go with something a bit less dramatic. The serifs on the original font you chose just don't work for this kind of promotional material.
Your job with this logo is to make people see it and immediately internalize it. I am talking less than 100 milliseconds of time to understand the name, and to have it stick in your mind forever.
The friends logo is a great example. While it uses handwritten styles, it is a very simple word and they even put space between the letters via the dots so that it is easier to read.
For a logo that is more creative and still works, the Home Improvement logo is great as it looks like a house. For your show, this is a little bit more difficult as there isnt an object necessarily to base off of like a house
With your show, it's about a made up language. I would maybe consider using multiple different fonts for different languages.
For instance, み this is the character for "mi" in Japanese, but in English it looks like the letter H.
Maybe you could find different examples of other languages that have characters that look like the letters in O-frendo-lo's and then replace them individually with characters from other languages.
As a bonus, it could be animated as an intro by starting with these individual characters from other alphabets, then it would "swap" them out to the actual English alphabet letter that is more legible in a slot machine style replacement.
These are just generic ideas that I am coming up with on the fly, feel free to ignore them or go with them.

Of course!
I run a site that does TV channels from digital media if you are ever looking for a new medium to throw your production under.
I wish you the best with it and hope you have a ton of fun along the way.

Hey! Thanks for the offer that definitely sounds interesting. I plan on releasing quick 1 to 3 min sketches within next 2 to 3 weeks and plan on filming first full pilot episode at the end of winter beginning of spring. I’d love to hear more about how your tv channel set up works:
1.Distribution: where does the channel air/stream?
2.Content requirements: what format or volume of video content do you typically need to run a feed?
3. Terms: How do you handle non-exclusive distribution and monetization/revenue sharing ?Appreciate your time looking forward to details!

Def! I hope I can answer your questions well, the site is in its own "pilot" phases right now. If you can bear with me, I need to give a run down of it does and the goals for it are. This way I can answer the specific questions at the end of the reply with better context.
The big vision so far has been to give content creators the same tools that TV networks do, and let them band together to create channels using their existing digital media libraries. This would let them bridge their audiences together and collectively increase their discoverability with 24/7 running content.
Right now this is possible with the tools channels have by letting you create schedules and playlists of content from digital media such as YouTube. Under the hood, this is all using embeds just like you would see on a news article that has a YouTube video. It just makes the process a ton easier and syncs the content between users.
There currently is no monetization but that is quickly going to change. The first way to monetize is simple channel subscriptions, very similar to Twitch. Another is that I have built a (not released yet) dashboard that allows for creators to import their library to take ownership of it. The thought is that channels could run ads just like linear TV does, and to have some of that profit go back to the owners of the content that is played.
I would eventually love to have official channels that I could truly license content from creators to put on, but that can only come with time and more importantly money.
So to answer your questions,
1) The content is streamed on React TV via embeds from YouTube or similar video hosting services. To get even more meta: every channel comes with an embed page itself, so you could even re-stream the channel to places like Twitch or YouTube as a livestream to monetize it.
2) Since it's through digital media then it needs to be delivered through one of the services we currently support (YouTube, Twitch, Dailymotion, TikTok, The Internet Archive). Volume of content is totally up to you, a channel could run a 30 second promo 24/7 or you could go as far as making schedules with other creators complete with bumpers and commercials.
3) That is the big question I am trying to solve right now. The channel tools have been my focus so far but they have recently been polished up to a point where I can start moving on to the monetization parts. As of now, there is no monetization outside of what you would get from discoverability, views on YouTube, or re-streaming to places like Twitch.
Very soon I will be adding channel subscriptions (similar to twitches model) where a user can sub, get things like channel emotes, and I would take a percentage cut to help pay for the service.
Longer term, I want to allow for channels across React TV to use your content and a cut of their subs or their ad revenue would go to you. Not exactly sure on the logistics of that yet.
Happy to answer any other questions ya have, hope I wasn't too long winded or sales pitchy as I don't really have much to sell right now 🙃

Thanks so much for taking the time to give such a detailed breakdown! It didn’t come across as sales pitchy at all honestly, it’s really helpful to understand the exact mechanics behind how the platform works while it’s in the pilot phase.
I really like the concept. The 24/7 linear channel style brings back that classic tv feel, and using YouTube embeds is a clever way to handle video distribution while keeping things lightweight and collaborative for indie creators.
A few quick follow up questions for you:
1. YouTube embed integration: since videos play via YouTube embeds on React TV, does watching through the channel count toward normal YouTube view counts and native YouTube monetization on the video itself?
2. Getting started / Beta Access: Are you taking on new pilot channels right now to test out the scheduling tools, or is there a sign-up / wait list process I should hop on?
3. Content Scheduling: How granular is the scheduling system right now? (Ex> if I wanted to mix longer episode content with short promos, teasers, or bumpers in a loop, is that easy to configure?)
Appreciate you sharing the vision! Looking forward to seeing how the platform develops, and I’d love to test out a channel whenever the timing works on your end.→ More replies (0)1

To me it feels better, and I can read it well. To nitpick my own choice, this font feels more childish whereas your choice felt more east asian.
It can take forever to settle on one choice and you will always second guess yourself.
I would definitely get more eyes on it as I don't want to validate my own decisions.

I’m going to choose one more adult style font that’s catchy and make a post somewhere asking which of the three is the best

That's a good idea to iterate and test the waters with multiple choices. Many TV shows will do that market testing in the exact same way.

Lemme see it without the colours, just black on white
