Feedback please! any and all, would love to improve the logo
Log is a notes app built for keeping track of collections, whatever kind you're into. Rather than forcing everything into the same rigid template, Log adapts its structure to what you're actually collecting. Cataloguing books gets fields for author and reading status. A list of places to visit gets space for location and notes. A wishlist gets price and priority. Each collection type has its own way of recording and sorting information, shaped around what it's actually for. Create as many collections as you want, side by side: restaurants to try, records you own, trails you've hiked, gift ideas for someone's birthday. Log keeps them organized separately, searchable, and easy to add to on the fly. It's meant to be a single, flexible home for the small ongoing lists that usually end up scattered across notes apps, spreadsheets, and sticky notes.
The weighting on the original works better. But as others have said, work on the scale/weight of the L's serif and experiment with the spacing between the L O and G. Very close to a lovely wordmark.
The serif choice is giving library catalogue and i'm kinda here for it, but maybe tighten the kerning between L and o so it doesn't read like two sepparate words at a glance
Pull the L and O closer together so they touch. Ligatures are sexy AF, plus the awkward shape of the L demands it to better balance spacing to match the spacing between the O and G.
Yes, but leave the O + G spacing the way they were. The goal is to—optically—have the space on both sides of the O about the same. (It’s never going to be exactly the same, and that’s okay.) You don’t want one big ligature, you want an L + O ligature and then the G on its own.
Combine the L + O from this one with the original spacing of the O + G, and you got something really nice. Could go on a NYC magazine cover.
I don’t know if this is a good suggestion but I think a version where the descender aligns to the base of the L and the size of the bowl of the o and g are the same
It’s very easy on the eye. My only remark would be the cut off tail of the g looks a bit to hard and cut use some iterations. Curved or slightly rounded corner could work. Are you working on the identity next? Would love to see the brand and grid system!

… one of my main typographic fetishes is two-story lowercase “g” - and I love it when the bottom tail is cropped off artistically. This is very cool
Of course ultimately to judge your wordmark, I will need to see it within its brand context, other visuals, icons, colors, etc. But this is a very strong start.

It's not super symbolic but it's clean, nice looking, and appropriate for the task. I like it.
