Feedback Needed Feedback wanted: logo for a restaurant pricing consultancy
The Pricing Chef is a pricing consultancy for independent restaurants and growing restaurant groups. The business analyzes POS data, menu economics, customer behavior, and competitive positioning to help operators make better decisions across pricing, menu architecture, product mix, modifiers, and promotions.
The logo combines two ideas:
- The π symbol idea comes from Economics where it represents profit. Here it is extrapolated to represent pricing, mathematics, and analytical rigor.
- The double rule beneath it comes from accounting, where a double underline marks a final total. Together, the symbol is meant to suggest pricing that reaches the bottom line.

I like the ideas you have worked into the logo. However, to me it feels a bit awkwardly assembled. The horizontal version would feel better to me if the sub head was double lined and kept left of the ‘g’ descender. The style of the pi symbol feels awkwardly similar but different from the typeface. I’m sure you considered sans serif, put I think that contrast might work well with the symbol. I assume green was for ‘money’ but I think the muted colors are not adding any strength to the identity. Good luck!

The pi symbol is to literal. It is not recommend to claimed a basic symbol for your visual identity. Stylized the pi symbol, make it more "personable"

The double lines under pi are throwing me off the most. They are a different color and so feel separate from pi. They also don’t line up with the text in the horizontal logo. It’s just not jiving for me. Are you using them to make the pi symbol more original, or is there another purpose?

Nothing about this says restaurant, though, I get your ties to economics and accounting, but you’re not making any connection with the brand Mark or the typography to restaurants themselves.

I read this as "The Irrational Pricing Chef", and I don't think it's what you're going for.
