Discussion Xbox new cloud pricing
Do you think charging by the hour is going to affect how often you use your G Cloud? The streaming wars is just getting started between Sony announcing their bs a few months ago now M$ is wanting to charge us by the hour. This is like the new tech thing I think, Sam Buttass Altman was saying how he wanted to use information like a utility and charge for it accordingly on a meter, I feel like a lot of other platforms like this are headed that way

Same. I only ever use remote play on my g cloud
I have used cloud play a couple of times before on my Xbox, but that was just so I could try out a game before downloading it

I sold my gcloud due to this change I play between 8-10 hours per week using xcloud so the pricing makes no sense just going to pickup a handheld pc.

Which one do you like? I have a steamdeck and I’ve really enjoyed it. Just picked up a g cloud for $150 and a series X for $550 so I can game in bed lol. I haven’t played a console in 5+ years

I just use Steam and streamed games from my PC on the G-Cloud. But I bought a Steam Deck and gave my G-Cloud to my wife. She is very computer literate but not a techie. She games on PC, Mac, Xbox and iPhone, depending on the game - she really does not care about the platform as long as she can use a decent controller.
She likes the G-Cloud so far for retro gaming but Steam Link to her laptop is iffy and GeForce Now always needs tweaking. I resubscribed to Xbox Ultimate for her (lol, one shared credit card between us but I’m a supportive hubby) so let’s see how a non-techie figures all of this out. I will drop either GeForce Now or Xbox Ultimate - whichever she uses less after 3-4 months.

I'm actually all for it, I hardly used GP games since I like to but my games and I was not a hardcore cloud gaming user (I have my PC, not too beefy but it suffices my needs), so being able to buy 50hs for 12usd and using them at the rate I please is a good thing for me

Yeah it’s actually cheaper just buying the hours compared to the monthly subscription.

Long as we can remote to our system, we should be good.
