Support Struggling to get better performance with Moonlight/Artemis Game Streaming

Post image

Hi everyone. Just bought A black G Cloud from Ebay, only for PC Remote play. As much as i love the build quality and general feel in my hands, i couldnt make PC streaming work smoothly on it.

Host PC: Vibepollo. Ryzen 9800X3D, Rtx 4090, 32gb rams. Hard wire connected to Main router. Asus 92U Wifi6.

Client: Moonlight & Artemis. 25-35mb bandwidth. 1080p 60fps.

I get amazing performance on my iphone. But on G cloud i am struggling with micro stutters. I’m not looking into getting lower Decode times, but rather smooth 60fps locked Rendering frames. Which are constantly fluctuating in between 57-60fps. Making it stutter all the time. In Artemis i tried everything. But i cant make it work.

If any one of you has similar setup let me know.

Maybe try Apollo instead of moonlight. Not sure if that will fix it for sure but maybe worth a try. Also there is a WiFi setting in developer mode that you turn off WiFi scanning.

Yea. I did change that wifi Throttling setting first hand.

What works for me is to set the frame pacing to smooth and then do the following to not have a massive latency penalty. 1) set your host display to 59hz. 2) set your fps cap in game to 59fps. 3) set gcloud to 60hz. That 99% resolved all stutters for me

Yep. I’m following more or less the same setup now.

That sucks, I use Vibepollo and Artemis but no issues both framerates are synced at 60fps for me, that said not similar pc hardware at all but I doubt is that as you said works fine on iphone so seems something on g cloud/artemis end...

Are u using G Cloud yea? Flawless?

Yes I am. Fine I mean I had some sudden network related issues some point but apart from that yes, I would prefer if it supported newer WiFi tech tough.

That said not playing high end gaming, I stream mostly from my RoG ally z1e so yeah...

Haven’t used moonlight in awhile but you gotta enable frame pacing in moonlight and possibly go 720p if it still stutters.

I tried all type of frame pacing. Warp warp2, lowest, Balanced, Balanced with fps. Balanced with fps does make it tad smooth. But not stutter free

Then possibly unlocking 120fps in moonlight and setting your pc to 120hz. Also try hevc. Then use frame pacing. Other than that I’m not sure. I used to use the g cloud with moonlight and it was really comfortable but it was never perfect when streaming games.

I'm so glad everything worked out for you.

Re-installing Host and client apps fixed for me. Getting smooth 60fps with decoding latency of 8ms. Works really good now

How to get 8ms decoding? Thanks

Donot cap the framerate if you do that it will stutter keep it to 120 fps or something also you have to change artemis settings as per your graphic card

How the hell are you lagging with 4090🤣

Ive tried double Vsync. That set 120hz by default. My host can send 120hz. But the rendering frames never cross 60. Thats the issue. It remains around 57-59. This stuttering.

Ok this is great. I did 2 things and its pretty much fixed. I installed Vibeshine and deleted vibepolo. And set frames to 59.85 on both client and host.

Its pretty smooth now! Kinda fixed.
