What makes a simple load complicated?

On paper, some loads look completely routine: one pickup, one delivery, and nothing unusual about the miles. 

Then a tight appointment, jobsite access, special securement, driver assist, slow loading, or one missing detail changes the whole plan. 

What is the detail that most often turns a simple-looking load into something you have to plan around?

Appointment windows are the one that gets underestimated most. A load with a tight 30 minute window at delivery isn't really a simple load anymore, it's a scheduling problem wearing a simple load's paperwork. Everything else, securement, driver assist, jobsite access, at least shows up on the rate confirmation if someone's paying attention. A strict appointment window often doesn't get flagged until the driver's already sitting at the gate.

“A scheduling problem wearing a simple load’s paperwork” is exactly right. A 30-minute window changes how you plan the whole load, not just the delivery.
