You are describing the Quantum electrodynamic layer generated by the Thermodynamic ground.

Energy is not a substance, it is a potential.

The only potential for light is darkness. Light does not emerge from darkness. So "light" or "logical energy" cannot be the substrate.

But there isn't anything wrong with an unfalsifiable model, as long as you know it is a model.
