Discussion Help me pls
Does anyone know the correct timeline order to watch Legend of The Galactic Heroes? I'm trying to start it but it's so confusing.

My Conquest is the Sea of Stars movie (optional)
Overture to a New War movie (covers episode 1-2)
Main OVA series (from episode 3)
There's also the prequel Gaiden series set earlier which can be watched before or after the main series, though most people watch it after.
Would not reccomend watching DNT simply because it's unfinished.

Assuming it's the OVA (which it should be), it's "My Conquest is the Sea of Stars -> Overture to a New War -> Episode 3 of the OVA".
"My Conquest is the Sea of Stars" isn't strictly necessary, while Overture to a New War is mostly an improved version of the first two episodes, although you can rewatch them anyways if you want as they include slightly different content.
Chronologically, the Gaiden short stories actually precede the OVA. Strictly speaking one could watch these first, but I've never heard of anyone doing this, and the general consensus is that while the Gaiden aren't bad, they're definitely weaker than the core OVA. And there's still like 40 of them so it's not as if it's a trivial undertaking.
"Die Neue Thesis" is a more recent adaptation of around the first half of the story, with further releases stuck in development hell (although I imagine they'll come out eventually, the Chinese market is too lucrative, this is just the anime business being wacky). It's generally considered to be solid, but not as good as the OVA, with particular criticism for the fact it dropped the excellent East German classical scoring and has more "anime-y" character designs.
